Gerdan Trio: Ukrainian Polka w/ Roman Mykyta & dancers from Ballet Theatre of MD 3-18-22 at SMES

A performance of the Ukrainian Polka, "Kolomyjka" --- featuring the Gerdan World Music and Dance Ensemble from Ukraine: Andrei Pidkivka (ethnic flutes) and Solomia Gorokhivska (violin and vocals), joined by Kalin Kirilov (accordion) from Bulgaria and Roman Mykyta with dancers from the Ballet Theatre of Maryland.
The performance was organized by Carpe Diem Arts and Artivate at St. Michaels Elementary School in St. Michaels, Maryland on March 18, 2022---with funding support from Talbot Arts. Thanks to Amy Effler and Chris Flaherty, music teachers at SMES and SMMHS, Emma Rose Myers, Diane Dowling and Busy Graham from Carpe Diem Arts, Ed Klein (volunteer sound engineer), Tom Buchkowski and Dr. Bullock at SMES, Joan Levy at Talbot Arts, James Redman at Talbot County Public Schools, Diana Schenck and Claire Schwadron at Artivate.
Later that same day, Gerdan and dancers presented a benefit concert for Ukraine at the Historic Avalon Theatre in Easton, MD in support of humanitarian relief via the nonprofit United Help Ukraine based in Gaithersburg, MD.
