    It's ironic the mother says she won't have a bully in her house when she is one herself. Public humiliation for a little boy is completely unnecessary, just talk to him about it, explain why its wrong and use some other kind of private punishment if necessary. Wouldn't be surprised if hes acting out like that because of his poor relationship with his mother. Also, her son is probably going to get bullied a lot now, so great job ending bullying, like that's possible.

    I hate to be "that guy," but the definition of bullying is a repeated act of malicious intent. One instance of disrespect technically doesn't qualify as bullying.

    • @ElonMuskisacunt

      +That one guy without a profile pic So you are excusing this little shit who did psysical harm to a girl unprovoked(presumably)? If someone did something like that to my daughter i'd want to beat the living shit out of him not that it would help. But having thousands of people judging and ridiculing your actions would make any normal human understand that what he did was wrong.

    • @ElonMuskisacunt

      He stepped on her feet so hard and twisted (according to the video) that her heel broke. He was intentionally trying to harm or embarrass her which is not something that's considered good behavior.Punishment was completely justified.

    • @VimyGlide
      @VimyGlide 8 років тому +10

      +Whatever idc
      Getting shoes broken versus being publicly humiliated by your own mother and shamed by thousands of people. HMMM, I WONDER WHICH ONE IS MORE FUCKING TRAUMATIZING.
      Yeah, what the kid did was really shitty, but the punishment was completely disproportionate to the act.

    • @MrFlackle
      @MrFlackle 8 років тому +9

      +Whatever idc If you think public shaming and humiliation is justified in this matter then there is something horribly wrong with your mental health. You do realize that this type of public shaming going viral like this can cause major issues later in life when this kid tries to find a job? Would you want a prospective employer finding out what mistakes you may have done as a kid? This kind of public shaming can damage someone's image INDEFINITELY, especially if it becomes viral. You can't delete this, it's set in stone pretty much forever. His name is attached to it. This is why PRIVACY matters. A responsible parent wouldn't have put this out to the public. A responsible parent would have handled this situation privately, they way it SHOULD be handled. Not throwing out there where it can be turned into a news article.
      Just for some good ol references, here are some opinion pieces with basis of facts of the negative aspects of public shaming.
      www.bellybelly.com.au/parenting/10-reasons-why-you-shouldnt-publicly-shame-kids/
      www.todaysparent.com/blogs/on-our-minds/public-shaming-is-bad-parenting-so-stop-it/
      www.indystar.com/story/news/2015/08/23/public-shaming-child-effective-right/32148623/
      www.psychologytoday.com/blog/stress-free-discipline/201506/the-psychological-effects-shaming-children
      Also, I agree that this one act does not BY DEFINITION count as bullying. That DOESN'T mean I or the other poster justifies this kids action. That would suggest that an action HAS to be counted as bullying in order for it to be reprehensible, and obviously it doesn't. Bullying is a pretty specific issue, and handling all cases of abusive behavior as though they are bullying is detrimental. Of course though, your someone that would respond to violence with even more extreme violence so I would imagine you wouldn't understand.
      No one here said what the kid doesn't wast wrong, what they are saying is what the mother did was even worse. The kid is a KID, and an ADULT who is suppose to be this kids PARENT publicly shamed her TWELVE YEAR OLD for a relatively minor event. This shaming was done OBVIOUSLY because the parent has a bias against men, and as a result, her son and society just eats it all up. Good old classic double standard. If this was a case of a girl bullying a boy and that boy's father publicly shamed his daughter, I could only imagine the shitstorm that would have followed.

    • @Dabordi
      @Dabordi 8 років тому

      +Weston Stevens You seem like a good candidate for this. Can you explain this story to me? I read through the post myself before listening to TJ, and it didn't seem like a big deal. The bit about "send the kid out to do chores for them" is stupid, but she didn't really do anything else that I saw. Bullying a new kid is an awful thing to do, so he loses birthday money for it. Insofar as she's being mean to him, that's only as his mother - that sounds like a normal disgusted reaction from anyone to pointless petty bullying.
      Are there some further circumstances here? Her sort of "directing an internet hate mob" to her son?
      I'm not trying to argue anything, I'm just sincerely a bit confused about why it's such a big deal. But as I said, I don't really know the circumstances.
      Thanks in advance.

    • @westonstevens3239
      @westonstevens3239 8 років тому

      +Dabor So kids will be kids warrants humiliating them for the world to see? These kids will get shit for this for a long long time into adulthood even because of stuff they did when they were too young to know better. For doing stuff kids often do, boy or girl.

    • @Dabordi
      @Dabordi 8 років тому

      Weston Stevens That's why I'm asking. Did she do anything beyond that one post? I mean, unless she went to a bunch of media going "please make the world hate my son" it's hard to criticize her THAT much. Is it the obligation of parents to try to hide all of their children's bad acts in case the internet catches on?
      And I gotta be honest, at least in my experience, it's not just "shit kids do." It's a level of douchey most kids didn't do, although plenty did and still grew up to be good people.
      And again, 12 years old isn't really too young to know better. Yeah, this shouldn't reflect on him as a 20 year old (probably), but people who will care much about it 10 years later are probably so hopelessly stupid that there's no chance to get an honest impression to them. But it's still plenty old enough to be developing your own character, and at the very least, you'd expect him to continue doing mean stuff unless challenged.
      It's not that she acted correctly, just that she didn't really act that profoundly incorrectly. I don't think every public criticism of someone else should carry the moral weight of what you'll do to the person if a hate mob forms around your post. I have a much easier time blaming the mob for not just letting it stay as the "family's business" than I blame the mother for not feeling compelled to keep shit her kid does under the rug.
      (I am specifically talking about the first story. The second one is a lot worse and pretty much completely inexcusable on the mother's part.)
      Sorry if you didn't want a rant, I guess. Just trying to get my mind around the matter.

    • @westonstevens3239
      @westonstevens3239 8 років тому

      +Dabor It sounds like her updates came after it went viral, where she continues to rub salt in the wound. In any case, anything you post online has the potential to go viral, and she should know that. She has caused great damage to her child's development at the benefit of her own narcissism.

    • @billjacobs521
      @billjacobs521 8 років тому +1

      +AlexReynard Women are more social than men. Notice everything about them; they do everything in groups, even going to the bathroom, and are far less likely to take jobs that involve being alone or at least unable to chat with coworkers. Not judging them for it, it's just a difference, which makes sense when you consider the need for maternal instincts and how our ancestors divvied up the work with men hunt, fight, and die, while women stay back to jointly raise children and perform mundane labor as a group. In a way, I wonder if women trying to be more like men is precisely why people, in general, are becoming less attached to each other, with smaller families, fewer friends, fewer routine social activities, etc; it's like we lost our glue.

    One word: Circumcision. When women are asked to give up over half of the sexual nerve endings to their genitals in the name of pure cosmetics...then it will be dead even. Just my opinion. Can women name anything that compares to pinning down a freshly born boy and mutilating him in terms of horrific beauty standards? Is their any standard of beauty for women that requires them to be physically deformed? Without even a choice? I know of no procedure that traumatic being imposed on women: especially when they're less than a day old. And these procedures are done with little if any anesthetic. I mean, imagine going through something like that as an adult, acquainted with pain through a lifetime of experience: now picture a child going through that. What they must feel. Let's put it this way: we don't do that to little girls, because we know it's wrong, it's painful and it's mutilation; but we seem to have an unflinching eagerness to impose this barbarism on little boys. I think that trumps any anxiety from a fashion magazine.Again this is my opinion. If you don't like it, ladies and gentlemen, read someone else's.
