A local told me that it was named the bridge of lies because soldiers going off to war would take their significant others to that bridge and “lie” to them telling them they would return safely
Guys, love your videos, but people that don't already know geography and culture might get the wrong idea. Sibiu is not located in the Balkan Peninsula and culturally wise it was more influenced by German/Hungarian/Austrian culture along with, of course, Romanian one. Dobrogea, in the South-East is actually part of the Balkan Peninsula and has about 12 minorities with their own influences and styles living harmoniously there.
Not even Dobrogea is Geographically in Balkans! BTW. Now is recognized there is not event Balkan Peninsula (which was the concept of some German geographer!). Balkans are more a geopolitical concept!
@@VenturousVagabonds ”...The concept of the Balkan Peninsula was created by the German geographer August Zeune in 1808, who mistakenly considered the Balkan Mountains the dominant mountain system of Southeast Europe spanning from the Adriatic Sea to the Black Sea. The term Balkan Peninsula was a synonym for Rumelia in the 19th century, the European provinces of the Ottoman Empire. It had a geopolitical rather than a geographical definition, which was further promoted during the creation of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the early 20th century. The definition of the Balkan Peninsula's natural borders does not coincide with the technical definition of a peninsula; hence modern geographers reject the idea of a Balkan Peninsula, while historical scholars usually discuss the Balkans as a region...” (Balkans-Wiki)
Thank you for introducing me to many wonderful places. Her expression in front of wonderful food is so lovely. The interior and scenery of various buildings are very interesting. I hope you two are always as happy as you are now.🥰🥰👍
He was at home during these adventures, he loved it in Romania because the place we stayed in was like a jungle gym for him. He had a whole bunk bed to himself lol. He will be in much more of our videos going forward! Looking to sort of give him his own series of adventure videos on here to go with our other travel content.
