Thank you very much Julianne. I have been trying to figure the adding a photo to an exiting book all day and you covered it here. You are an excellent trainer!
Julianne, thank you for your videos. I am learning a lot and plan to create/purchase my first Blurb Book. I am having trouble though, with the Photo Text format that I want to use. For every photo, I want to see: Caption, Creator, Make (camera make), Lens, Exposure, Label. This is how we saved our metadata in each photo. But, every time I see a photo, the “format” with the above information does not appear. What am I doing wrong? Can you point me to information that will help, or reply here? Thank you,
This is NOT customising. Customising the page layout is allowing the user to define templates that suits his/her requirements, not just rearranging existing templates ever so slightly and then calling them a custom template. Why is it that users do not have the freedom to place images and text on the page as they see fit. Being confined to templates is OK where they suit but many users want the freedom to define the layouts in more creative ways. Why isn't there a template editor to allow users to create their own templates IF templates have to be used for whatever the reason. Add to that the fact that book sizes are also limited to what is on offer. Come on Adobe lets get this sorted out so that we can all create the books we want.
Thank you for the tutorial.I am having problem with pdf file creation. Front and back cover images does not appear on the pdf.Help me to fix this please.
This is not the answer that i need. i am trying to find out how to alter the standard size of 8x10 to a 3x2 aspect ratio. Why are they stuck in this old fashion format. Get up to date and use the digital size 6x4 6x9 8x12 12x18 "Etc" this the true aspect ratio as 35mm film should have been. Julieanne Kost
What about the spine? I know it can be done. How do you write the spine? You know so you can see what book it is when it’s in a book case. Please...this is rather basic.
As others have said this is not really customising. Please please adobe allow for custom layouts and add much more standard layouts. I usually make square books and it is incredibly frustrating that some layouts aren't just available rotated 90 degrees or flipped, how hard would it have been to include those? The print module allows for custom page layouts and is very easy to use. Why can't the book module employ something similar.
Great tutorial Julianne

Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge with photographers
The problem start when you want to create a custom book size. You simply cannot, unless someone from Adobe reply back and explain how.
impossible. For that yo can use fundy or smart albums
How do I write a page of text preceding a photo?

I've used the Print Module to create the customised page layout, printed it to a JPG file, then imported it for incorporation by the Book Module

PDF crates second file just for cover. Because when you print you print them each for its one.

Your book would have to be a hardcover wrap around, then in between the covers you'll be able to edit the spine.
