Stunning! I had a 2016 RNineT Sport with the weld showing on the tank, seat hump and high level Akra pipes. Added bar end mirrors and a small screen. Best bike I've ever had. It was the only bike where a guy in a car behind me at a red light wound his window down and shouted that it was "gorgeous, the best effing looking bike he'd seen in his life"
Wow has that only happened to you once? I get it all the time on my t160 it's usually at petrol stations Sometimes in traffic Once at the chip shop and several times on a ferry And the most unusual one was an asylum seeker in Calais begging for money on the first day I owed it!
The R90S when launched in 1973 cost £1799 if memory serves me correctly. That is now, with inflation, £19,119…… so that puts the price of the new bike in perspective I think….. It looks fantastic IMHO and I would love one!
Pro tip, BMW dealers are trying to clear their remaining inventory of R Nine T's at huge discounts. I had a deal open with an offer of 12k euro for a prime model. While I like the R12, it's just not as good looking as the R9T and at that money it's a hell of a bike. Spec sheets don't do these bikes justice, you really have to ride one to "get it", but there's no going back once you do. There's nothing quite like them, they're just absolute rolling art and more than the sum of their parts.
t looks fantastic! It is a special motorcycle. I am a fan of the R90s. It is a motorcycle that deserves to be honored with this beauty! I have already ordered one.
A few years ago I brought a beautiful new R9T/5 in Lupine blue. It was a little expensive at around $12,000 but I really loved that bike until someone stole it. The R12S is the only bike since 2020 that has me thinking about how I could buy one. I already have a Kawasaki Z900RS SE and Thruxton R which scratch a similar itch but honestly I'd love to figure out how to add this bike in my garage without losing the other bikes.
I have the green model. Basically, it's just a colour update. Many things to love about it but I'm not so enthused about it in and around town,. Great on twisties in summer but jerky with two much engine breaking in first and second. Decided to trade in for the Tiger 800 sport in spring
I rode a R12 Ninety recently and thought the suspension was very poor considering it had Öhlins. It was such a hard and uncomfortable ride. Not sure if the dealer had messed about with the settings but it was just awful. I ended up buying a mint very low mileage HP2 Sport for similar money, with tele-lever front end and Öhlins shock and it was just so much better. Also, I just recently rode the Ducati 950S Supersport which also has Öhlins and that has magnificent ride quality. Ducati have done a stunning job with the suspension on this bike. Stunning bike all round the 950S Supersport.
@_Corsa I love bikes, but how do you do groceries and other stuff, deal with bad weather, carry more than one person, go somewhere you're supposed to be dressed? I don't have a car yet, I have a bike, but it's almost impossible to do these things without a car.
The Japanese, Chinese and Indian brands still makes affordable and quality models. It's the European brands that are going more and more crazier in their pricing
It is a thing of beauty Indeed, but it's quite expensive, too. For that money, I may go for the Indian FTR1200 Sport. Anyway, does this come with a twin seat too or are you stuck with the single seat option?
"I’ve been riding the older BMW R nineT, and while it’s an amazing bike in so many ways, I can’t help but feel frustrated that BMW still hasn’t included a fuel gauge on this model. It’s such a fundamental feature that’s missing. I hope BMW listens to their riders and addresses this in future versions!"
Compared to my first-gen 9T, not a fan of the more bland looks and side covers of these gen 2, but it’s nice to see them do more with the platform. No doubt an R12 GS or RT are coming and those will be great.
Fantastic looking, but way overpriced £18460 !!! And no fuel gauge! BMW trying their luck again, I think they will sit in the showrooms until they do a deal on them.
If they sold the R12 in my country for £18,460, I would have bought it, lol. Here in Southeast Asia, even a regular R9T costs around £50,000, while the average income here is only about £300 per month. It sucks
Depending on which inflation calculator your are using your £4500 in today's money would have been between £25850 and £40500. What BMW is asking for this one now, we could call it a bargain, innit?! 😂😂
Your channel is like a strawberry Fruit Pastille in a pack of ONLY lemon ones and your sister knows they give you a headache, but she ALWAYS eats JUST the strawberry and blackcurrant ones and then why even have them at that point? GOD!! But yeah I like your channel its pretty alright.
Its not bad with all the options, my money would be in the XSR racer boy because, the triple and the looks, this, just has bits of looks and no triple...lol
Just try to remove the battery when needed and don’t forget your 6mm allen key to remove the rear cowl all very high tech and yours for an astonishing £18460
Who can afford these machines these days? Probably most of the problem is the pound not being worth so much now, but bikes in general are too expensive to buy new especially as you can get good second hand stuff at a good price.
When is BMW going to put their 1250 engine in the NineT models? The air/oil cooled lump with the single dry clutch is a major pain to service the clutch because it's behind the engine and you have to disassemble the rear half of the bike. The 1250 engine got a wet clutch and moved it to the front, right behind the front wheel... not to mention a lot more power.
I think the idea is you buy the 1250/1300 models if you want the liquid cooled modern engine and these are specifically for riders who want a retro bike. BMW is probably worried about cannibalising sales of the new 1300 models or potentially losing retro appeal if they follow your approach. I'd just take a round headlight R1300R tbf instead of the weird modern alien styling on the R1250R.
I was going to get Low Rider S and mod it out with all the retro style cafe faring - with new Cam and so on - it came about at $25k. And I thought Harley was overpriced...
Solely tempting, your having a laugh, typical BMW pricing how do they sell these things. Some brand snobs keeping them going but for how long in these austere times.
I owned a R90S in the past and I like the looks of the R12 S, but is it as good looking as my R nineT Racer ? Not in my opinion. Yes it’s a better spec, suspension and brakes etc., but it’s way way overpriced. Saying you get a lot from the accessory catalogue for your money just tells you how overpriced the accessory catalogue is ! I’ll be keeping my Racer with its original (extreme 🤣😂) handlebars 🇬🇧
Looks awesome. R9Ts and R12s are very good, just I can never find the need! But this is amazing looking - it shows the quality of finish that Triumph should strive for.
You can pick up a brand new Moto Guzzi V100 Mondelo for @11,000!... Personally, I think BMW is suffering a 'boom economy' mind set, when, in reality, overall bike sales are dwindling, new car sales are dwindling and people, in general are struggling to keep up with inflation.
They are expensive, I bought my 2016 top spec for around 17k (€) at the time, now they are asking 21k for roughly the same bike, even the BMW seller was expressing his concern about it.
Both a little bit too expensive and thing of beauty. I am old enough to remember the original which had an amazing paint scheme and love this take on it but sadly, one won,t be moving into my garage!!!
The base R12 Nine T is already 3k overpriced, let alone this, nice bike, but for the amount they are asking for, I'd always go for a Z900RS or Speed Twin RS and save alot of money.
Well, the new SpeedTwin RS is about 18K here too. I have the Z900RS (the normal one in 2019 and the SE last year, but sold both because they lacked a bit of character, still one of the best looking bikes though)
It’s not expensive because it costs 20k. It’s expensive because it costs 20k AND you can’t carry a passenger or any luggage. So in practical terms this can’t be your only bike.
Stunning! I had a 2016 RNineT Sport with the weld showing on the tank, seat hump and high level Akra pipes. Added bar end mirrors and a small screen. Best bike I've ever had. Sometimes in traffic
Once at the chip shop and several times on a ferry
And the most unusual one was an asylum seeker in Calais begging for money on the first day I owed it!
I love everything about this except the price.
Price is just ridiculous.
Hyundai and Kia should start making cheaper bikes just like how they did for the cars.
The R90S when launched in 1973 cost £1799 if memory serves me correctly. That is now, with inflation, £19,119…… so that puts the price of the new bike in perspective I think…..
It looks fantastic IMHO and I would love one!
Build quality of BMW's was much higher in 1973.
@@splodge57 everything was simpler then so of course
As a rider of certain age who nearly bought the R90S 'in period', tis a thing of beauty... albeit an expensive one 😎
Pro tip, BMW dealers are trying to clear their remaining inventory of R Nine T's at huge discounts. I had a deal open with an offer of 12k euro for a prime model. In the States, I can pick up a R Nine T on Marketplace for around $8500 with less than 5K miles. Been pretty tempted in doing so.
Agree the 9T is a much more beautiful machine. This new one doesn’t have smooth lines
Thats a great looking bike!!
Such a great looking retro
What a gorgeous bike.
The bike is freaking beautiful. Love the paint job. I'd personally get a Z900RS Café and have it painted in some funky vintage color scheme.
BMW really knows how to make gorgeous bikes on they 1200 boxer engine, they nailed it again ❤❤❤
And proper clocks !
When a new (mostly-standard) 🇺🇸 pickup truck runs about $75k… then it doesn’t seem terribly bad. Beautiful 🇩🇪 bike 👍🏽
“S” logo on the side panel seals the deal for me
Thing of beauty, thanks for sharing!
C'mon R1300R! I know you're on a drawing board somewhere.
t looks fantastic! It is a special motorcycle. I am a fan of the R90s. It is a motorcycle that deserves to be honored with this beauty! I have already ordered one.

The ultimate collection is here!

Many things to love about it but I'm not so enthused about it in and around town,. Great on twisties in summer but jerky with two much engine breaking in first and second. Decided to trade in for the Tiger 800 sport in spring
Really like the look of the new R12 S, if I had the cash one would on my New Year shopping list.
What a gorgeous-looking bike.

Splendid !
Motorcycles are a rich people hobby nowadays
Hello triumph speed400? cfmoto650? All 300cc-650cc are adequate and affordable
@_Corsa I love bikes, but how do you do groceries and other stuff, deal with bad weather, carry more than one person, go somewhere you're supposed to be dressed? I don't have a car yet, I have a bike, but it's almost impossible to do these things without a car.
🤔 As the owner of a 2003 vintage Suzuki . . . I feel so 1% and elite.
Move along, peasants. 😂
I feel the same way about groceries.
The Japanese, Chinese and Indian brands still makes affordable and quality models. It's the European brands that are going more and more crazier in their pricing

That's one stunning bike for sure..!!!

Seriously?! No fuel gauge?
Love the Grey Jacket!! 2:15 what brand is it?
The Moto Guzzi 2025 V7 Sport costs half as much and is more retro, IMO.
I love my V7 Special, I am looking to add the R Nine T or the R12 S, retro in a different way
Lovely but just too expensive
Que moto linda! Tomara que venha para o Brasil.
Compared to my first-gen 9T, not a fan of the more bland looks and side covers of these gen 2, but it’s nice to see them do more with the platform. No doubt an R12 GS or RT are coming and those will be great.

@ wow!
Auch!!! Thats robbery by tax!
This is the problem with the motorcycle industry…£18,000!!! That’s insane! My 1977R90S cost me £4,500!
Depending on which inflation calculator your are using your £4500 in today's money would have been between £25850 and £40500.
What BMW is asking for this one now, we could call it a bargain, innit?! 😂😂
@ true but I paid $4,500 in 2024…
👍😂
yes but equate what you earned a year, the bike cost as a % - then as to now and see how it relates ?
It's gorgeous. With the thruxton gone and it'd be either this or the Kawasaki Z for similar looks.
Does it have a pillion seat big enough for a real person??
Love the looks, I immediately flashed back to the original R 90. Definitely a little (a lot!) pricey though
Probably so, but the new R12 GS is coming soon. First BMW was a R90S so pretty close for me. Maybe a RS version
If only funds would stretch to this beauty
Should be around £12k max.
I will pass this onto BMW
Def better looking, I wonder if sales are down for R9t. Old platform imho was better and more customizable.
Does it come with ASA option?
A thing of pure beauty and art! Just keep the two round analog dials, and forget that digital sqare nonsense.
I think it looks almost ‘too retro’. But I do love it.
That's what I'm talking about!!!! NICE
The original didn't have clip ons, did you ever ride one?
How does it compare to the RS?
Nice Bike ❤
collectors model
based on - we'll only sell a few but it gets rid of base bikes
$18K bargain ? You must me high ... like the price. 1000 Hornet is the only choice.
Beautiful but too expensive.
Very nice but far too expensive for me.
I love the wire wheels on my Vitpilen 401 and the clip on handlebars, all for $5300.
Made in India
@@stephenwatchesyoutube4133 I've owned it for more than two years and have had zero problems. Looks like new too.

At least the model name is less confusing than the standard one 😆
Looks fantastic. Now where did I leave that loose £18k.....
Just try to remove the battery when needed and don’t forget your 6mm allen key to remove the rear cowl all very high tech and yours for an astonishing £18460
The SOS emergency system alerts the BMW call centre to send you a large bill.
Who can afford these machines these days? Probably most of the problem is the pound not being worth so much now, but bikes in general are too expensive to buy new especially as you can get good second hand stuff at a good price.
They rely on selling them with pcp (so basically renting them)
Mudguards? Wot mudguards??
Robert, I like it a lot. In fact, I'd seriously consider buying one if it was £16k. Still, what do I know, I'm a pigeon!
im so hard right now ... going to be keeping my ear to the ground for this one
When is BMW going to put their 1250 engine in the NineT models? The air/oil cooled lump with the single dry clutch is a major pain to service the clutch because it's behind the engine and you have to disassemble the rear half of the bike. Where’s the alternator in the 1250? And don’t say it’ll never fail. Mine did after 9,500 miles. Horse for courses.
Are these actual pic or just more AI placeholders?
I was going to get Low Rider S and mod it out with all the retro style cafe faring - with new Cam and so on - it came about at $25k. And I thought Harley was overpriced...
No I think it’s priced correctly for the people who want the limited edition stuff. I would buy the original one myself but that’s just me
Beautiful bike 12k all day
If it was cheaper, more people would have one, thereby mitigating it's special desire.
Solely tempting, your having a laugh, typical BMW pricing how do they sell these things. Some brand snobs keeping them going but for how long in these austere times.
I'm so early, I see the mess in comments
As a British and Italian fanboy, this is my favorite new bike of 2025 hands down. However I agree with everyone else, the price is dumb.
Stunning bike and worth every cent
I would take the Kawasaki z900 retro instead because it's half the price similar performance and still has that great retro look.
I owned a R90S in the past and I like the looks of the R12 S, but is it as good looking as my R nineT Racer ? Not in my opinion. It's as good or better looking than anything Harley-Davidson does, but with classic BMW styling.
She’s gorgeous
Call me when they make a 2026 BMW R13 S with a 1300cc Liquid Cooled engine.
Was on a BMW owner chat site and they were so snobby about this bike not being an exact replica.
It's a beauty and too expensive all in one. I would go for the Moto Guzzi v7 Stone Corsa
This just became my most wanted next bike, hands down. Beautiful.
They are expensive, I bought my 2016 top spec for around 17k (€) at the time, now they are asking 21k for roughly the same bike, even the BMW seller was expressing his concern about it.
Why do all bikes nowadays have a cut down rear end? Lets down an otherwise beautiful bike
Motorcycles used to be a cheaper form of transport. You could buy a nice BMW 3.0 diesel for that money.
BMW Motorrad, please explain to me how you can design such a beautiful bike and, at the same time, design one of the butt ugliest? (R1300GSA).
When were BMW’s ever cheap?
Both a little bit too expensive and thing of beauty. I am old enough to remember the original which had an amazing paint scheme and love this take on it but sadly, one won,t be moving into my garage!!!
Badge Tax is just too high. I’ll stick to me Guzzi V100.
Noiiiice
The base R12 Nine T is already 3k overpriced, let alone this, nice bike, but for the amount they are asking for, I'd always go for a Z900RS or Speed Twin RS and save alot of money.

Trying to find a non bot comment is difficult.
Become a hermit.

What happened to the hulk roadster that had the massive boxer from their cruiser ? Forget this artsy fartsy nostalgia milking cow.
More important than the colour of the wheels is that they are tubeless spoke rims. Other than that it's just an expensive paint job. Rip off pricing.
It’s not expensive because it costs 20k. It’s expensive because it costs 20k AND you can’t carry a passenger or any luggage. So in practical terms this can’t be your only bike.
Its a thing of beauty which is expensive ❤😂. But then the R9T was always a overpriced expensive roadster. So this was expected 😏.
having owned a 2016 R9T Sport I'd have to say it was worth every penny.
Both. A little too expensive and a thing of beauty. Unfortunately, being inseam challenged (29 in), this beauty is just a little too tall for me.
