yes, that is a dragonfruit, something really cool about those plants, is that the flower that blooms, only blooms at night and only lasts around 8 hours and then that's it, the flower is gone after that, it is incredible if you ever get a chance to see it!

I can 100% relate to the scatterbrain/finding it hard with routines/leaving things to the last minute. It was these daily struggles that helped me get a diagnosis for ADHD as an adult. I'm not a professional, so I can't diagnose you, nor should I. But as someone who has made a bunch of friends since and that I now have help, my life has changed for the better.

I've also seen such mixed reviews of House of flame and shadow but I loved it. It's probably one of my favorite SJM (though I'd have to reread some of her older books to see if that's true. I also love Ruhn and Ithan (and Lidia of course).
I cannot even tell you how many times I have left my phone on the toilet paper dispenser in a public bathroom 🙊 Thankfully I have never lost it permanently. Once at target I had to collect it from the customer service desk. Some lovely person had turned it in. So stressful. 😅

I left my phone at Spotlight one day on the pattern cabinets - thankfully someone took it to the cutting counter and the ladies there kept if for me.
Like you I realised as was driving away - it was just that moment of forgetfulness!!
I have strap from casetify to be able to just let go of my phone and it stays on me its been life changing. i initially bought it for a concert and it was amazing there but also every day i just let my phone go and it hangs so i dont lose it or need to hold it its just so good for shopping or w/e carrying stuff. (only potential issue is if ur muscle memory lets go of ur phone whenever the strap isnt on which ive done a few times lmao and it falls to the floor 💀)
I am a scatterbrain girlie too, did you listen to the "so far, so good" podcast episode, with Jess and Gabe Conte, where they interviewed Jess's parents and her dad was talking about how he taught himself to have a better memory, it's so interesting!

I left my phone in a trolley once, drove 15 mins away to a friends place thinking it must've just been in the boot. Get out at friends place, can't find it. Get them to call my phone. It's not here. Drive all the way back downtown and LUCKILY it was still sitting there.

Same!! I actually got diagnosed as a kid but my mum and teachers thought it was wrong because I didn’t have the normal hyperactivity, calling out symptoms. I was always quiet but it’s my mind that’s hyperactive and just always racing.
Hey Rach! Have you considered you may have ADHD? I have it and learning to work with my brain working on fast forward mode was life changing. Even if you think not, defs check out some ADHD strategies bc they may be helpful in working with ya noggin💖💖

Hi Rachel, sorry to bring this up but my partner has recently been diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive variant). A lot of what you describe of how you feel (lose stuff all the time, chaos in your head, etc) reminds me of my partner. Perhaps, this is something to look into if you’re searching for answers
