Loved it thanks
So glad!
Check out Minwax water based wood stain. They are great. Dries fast and clean up with soap and water.
I love a fast drying option!! I am always trying to craft quick, these days!
Very cute. Missed the daily question. 😊
Daily question will be back in the next videos! I didn't want to ask too many questions when asking about the stain!
I love decorating for Fall vs Halloween. The colors I just love.
Me too!
I'm sure you solved you problem with the stain issue, but I went with "natural" on my kitchen cabinets. So it's oak with like a clear finish I guess is what they did.
I want to do one too but to add it to the canvas side and do a orange glitter pumpkin.
Sounds lovely!
You have quickly become my favourite Cricut/craft related UA-cam channel! I have had a cRicut now since 2014 and stuck to mostly wooden/painted signs. But I love all of your projects. They all inspire me so much. I was afraid to try reverse canvas but thanks to your video, I have now gone out today and bought a pack! Ive also ordered the Mug Press and can’t wait for it to arrive. I look forward to future videos.
Wonderful! Thank you so much!
Maybe give Tung Oil a try.
Very pretty.
Thank you!! I really like it too, I placed it in my kitchen!
Another great project for me to try. You are the best.
Thank you! Definitely try this, it's super easy! I have another one for Christmas coming out!
I love this, I hadn’t seen the reverse canvas before. I don’t usually do much for Halloween 🎃 but given everything else that’s gone on this year, I’m making more of an effort this year for our children and others in our village ☺️ x
Hi Bethany, Try Varathane Flagstone stain..
That’s actually on my list to buy and I’m thinking it might be a contender!
so cute! My son, Joshua was watching this with me and he fell in love. so i just got this svg and will be trying my hand at a reverse canvas today! You made it look so easy so i hope i can do it! Thanks for such a great tutorial
Oh fun! So glad! You can totally do it! I will be honest, I have put off this project for a long time because I was intimidated but it was REALLY EASY!
@@Bethadilly You are so right! I did!! it was easy. Josh chose the color green instead of black and I'm in love! thanks again for your tutorials!
@@dezirrewalker6731 WONDERFUL!!!! I am so glad you thought is was so easy too. And I love that you both did it together!
Grea video as all of yours. Commenting on stain colors minwax wood finish oil based stain simply white or minwax pickled oak. minwax has some great choices! Happy shopping!
I've definitely been looking at Minwax! I'll check out those colors!
Love it!
Thank you!
I know this is an older video, but Minwax has tons of stain colors. You’re sure to find a shade you love.
Oh, PS- Halloween is my fave holiday next to Christmas, so we go all out with the decor 👍🏻
If you go to google and type in Stain Colors it will show you a lot of different stains for different woods. You may find something there in stains you like. You can type in the brand of stain you want as well. Just type in Minwax Stain Colors (just used Minwax as a sample, look for whatever stain you like) and it should bring up a lot of colors to choose from.
It may help narrow down your search.
A lot of people also use regular craft paint and mix it with a bit of water to use as a stain. Just pick the color you like and add some water, mix and stain. If you want something in between 2 or 3 colors just mix the colors til you get what you're looking for and add water, mix and stain. (And craft paint is a usually cheaper than a lot of stains.)
Hope that helps.
Great project.
Yes, I have used Google a lot before for research and think I am getting closer to finding a stain I like.
Very cute. Maybe a black stain???
Thank you, Michelle! I think I may have found a stain and I’m hoping to try it out this weekend!
Love this idea. Have you tried just using a polyacrylic to go over the natural wood? Sometimes it gives a look of light stain. Also, didn't you forget something? Like maybe a "question" for us? And by the way, since my kids are older, we really don't decorate for Halloween because I'm usually at church handing out candy at our "trunk or treat". Don't think we are going to be able to do that this year, though!!
Ha ha, glad you're enjoying the questions! Because I was asking about the stain color, I decided to skip the Question of the Day so I didn't over ask! :) Questions will continue in the upcoming videos though!
Love your project!! You may wish to check our the Varathane stain colors. So many choices. Natural is a choice.
I'll check that out, thank you!
That came out really nice. Not sure what to recommend in terms of stain. Have you thought about maybe mixing two stains together. It works for paint, so I assume it would work with stain.
Thank you so much! I may have some ideas for stain but may have to do some mixing if these initial choices don’t turn out!
I like fruit wood stain. It's not too dark. I would put it in a medium for darkness.
Is that the brand? Thank you!
@@Bethadilly No the color is fruitwood I believe the brand is minwax.
I love your videos! You do such a good job at explaining:) On an unrelated to crafting note, where did you get your mouse pad? It's so cute!
Target, a few years ago!
Are you going to get the new Cricut Foil Tool? I almost ordered it today from HSN.
Lisa Shireman I gave in and did get the special on HSN. That’s how I purchased my Cricut Maker and Cricut Joy, too. 😂
Yep, mine arrived yesterday! Can't wait to open it up!
@@chasitytaylor8858 I'm going to buy one, but will get it from JoAnns or Michaels. I waited too long yesterday to decide. Now the HSN deal is over.
Lisa Shireman It’ll still be fun to create with.😊
@@chasitytaylor8858 I got it ordered this morning from Joanns. I am excited to make some Christmas cards and gifts with it! 😁
Hi. Thanks for sharing this - it looks great and your tutorial is so easy to follow! I'm a cricut newbie so I've subscribed to you for more help and inspiration. Can I just ask how you would hang this on a wall please? Thanks again, Fiona in Scotland x
You could easily place hanging hardware on the back of the frame!
I love it! I have a question. Why did you have to use parchment paper instead of using the press directly on the carrier sheet? You don’t always do that. (I’m still learning.)
For some materials, I like to be extra cautious when pressing and canvas is one of those. I just like to place parchment paper over it during pressing to make sure everything is protected!
Brush on tea or coffee
Love your videos. You do such a good job. On a different note I love the color of your nail polish, is there a chance I could have the name of it?
Thank you! I can never remember the exact color but the brand is Ella and Mila and I get mine from Target!
Shanty 2 Chic recently stained a coffee table build of theirs with a lighter stain mixing Minwax Classic Gray and Golden Oak in equal parts. You can head over to their channel and check it out. Nice holiday decor. I’ve wondered about reverse canvas.😊♥️
Thank you!
What did you use to hang it or was it free standing?
Mine is free standing, but you can add picture handing hardware or a hanging ribbon to the back of the frame.
Love this one....thanks for sharing.....!! Also - please check your Facebook messenger, too !!
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed this! UA-cam comments is the best place to comment because I don't have my FB messages turned on!
Have you seen Kayla's Cricut Creations video on multi colored shirts using htv/iron on?
She shows how to use strips or scraps to create a design on a shirt.
Her you tube for this video is

It was really interesting. Great way to use scraps.
