"off you go gentlemen"???....the days of gentlemen racing bangers ended in the early 1970's...once families of pikies began racing in father/son/brother teams, that's when the fun left the sport. It is no longer fun, and any newcomer to banger racing doesn't stand a chance when there is a family of about 6 hoods in the same race. Nah...real banger racing is long gone!...and very few gentlemen still exist in it!

I recently watched (not raced in) a local stock car track meet, and one young lad chased another car that had hit him earlier...he eventually rammed him against the wall, and knocked him out of the race....he then proceeded to reverse and ram, reverse and ram for about 5 miutes on the same bloody car and driver......what must have been his Mother was standing across from us.....she started shouting..."go on Son, kill the bastard, kill the bastard"......after that i have taken nothing to do with stock car racing, a sport i loved.
@@sydneyconaghan743 The guy i mentioned is the very reason (or one of) why i don't do it any more....i will stand by what i originally said....the FUN went out of banger racing in the 1970s.....drivers weren't trying to kill one another then, it was all for a laugh.
