presume you no longer have this car, but if that's incorrect, then you're still DIY 'ng it. Wish you had done a bunch of these, because your explanations are crystal.

Thanks! Just wanted to give back a little. I generally do most of my own Euro cars and help others on occasion.

good Vid. mine was Extremely difficult to change. 2000 Audi s4. broke two clips, and had to buy a smaller o-ring to make it fit!

No over heating AJ, just had a check engine light for the sensor not reading. If you are experiencing overheating, these engines have issues often related to the thermostat which is in a housing and a bit of a PITA. There are write ups on this on the various Audi web forums. Good luck on Audi repair.

Thanks for the tutorial. Unfortunately, my ECT sensor is stuck. C-clip is out but the sensor won't budge as it's corroded to the housing. I tried soaking it with liquid wrench. Tried turning it with a clamping tool and no go. Tried heat, still nothing. I'm at a loss.

great vid but why does no one tell the year of their car. If they would put that in the title then we could find the car we that were looking for easier. Just a thought ,,,,

I can't believe you think the coolant temperature sensor is in EGT sensor engine gas temperature for the turbos the EGT is at metal braided sensor that goes right above the O2 in the same video why you took out the brand new style coolant temperature sensor I have no idea or why you took the talks both and the lost the original o ring when you took it off of the combi valve i have no idea

Apparently I spoke too quickly for you to understand that I was saying “ECT” sensor the entire time and never intending my statement to be confused with “EGT” per your point. I’m sure you were able to discern as the video played, that in fact I showed the ect sensor location and clearly was working on a coolant system related sensor as I specifically mention the term coolant in the video. To your second point, i did not lose the o ring. I was only demonstrating that the o ring can get left behind when the sensor is pulled from its housing, but again based upon your critique, I’m not sure if this video provided you any value as your post seems to indicate your familiarity with nomenclature and repair procedures. I posted this as a resource so folks could find out where the ect sensor is located and how to change it.. have a great holiday weekend!
