Welcome back Ray. I wish I had a dollar for every time I've left little white smudges of heat grease all over my apartment.... That stuff really knows how to travel.
Good timing with this video Ray. My best friend and I both went to the local Lafayette store and bought the LR9090 in 1977, along with a turntable and speakers. I sold mine in the 90's and he just gave me his as it was just sitting in his basement. Unfortunately his wife apparently used it as a plant stand as the top of the case is rusty and it's filthy inside. This video will definitely help when I get around to cleaning it up and getting it working again. They were great sounding receivers! Appreciate you Ray!
No, no, no, Ray The South of England is where to be !! just maybe 10 or 20 miles outside of the coast (Brighton). Nice to see you posting again !....cheers.
Andy! There was an old US TV show called Green Acres, and the theme song's first line was "Green Acres is the place to be." Guess it's no longer true, as the town I'm in is called Greenacres. Who knows, I may become an expat.
Hi Ray, glad to see you're doing well, 🤔 you came to see if we're still alive 😂 I don't understand how it's possible, but that white paste has a hidden property of getting into places I haven't even thought about🤪 A beautiful demonstration of diagnostics, I personally belong to the transistor healers group, maybe you'll return to this group - I'll send you an e-mail. Even though I'd like to be your neighbor, don't move to the Czech Republic 😂 lately it's almost impossible to buy quality components in stores and we have to order everything from abroad 🤑 Nice day 🙂Tom
Tom! Saw your email about the curve tracer. I'd seen the video that XrayTonyB had posted. I've seen many of his videos, and have learned a lot from him. As far as the paste goes, suffice it to say that I now wash my hands BEFORE urinating. 😝
Great video! I like the way that you state and explain about common issues with particular portions of a circuit... Such as here, if there is a protection circuit issue, it is likely x, y, or z. Kudos. Is not your distortion analyzer rather unique and useful? Maybe you should not dispose of it, but send it in for servicing and calibration. Assuming that you don't have the knowledge base to work on it yourself, of course. Maybe that is a better economic investment? Just a thought. HTH.
@@robertwear1675 Thanks, I'll have to check that out. I watched a repair by Mick (Buy it Fix it) on UA-cam. Mine powers up, but gives completely different readings every time you hit test.
@@raygianelli3612 I zapped my transistor tester and a friend zapped his cap tester. I sent both back and the cost was around $70 for both combined with return shipping. That was before Covid though.
Welcome back Ray.

Does it ever! Helpful hint: wash your hands BEFORE you take a leak. 😝

ROFL ... Noted for future!!
Hey Ray, nice to see you back! Another good video. I like to use qtips for the paste, but it STILL gets into odd places..
@@petercornell2002 Yeah, I tried using foam swabs, but just use a finger. And wash my hands BEFORE taking a leak. 😝
nice to see that you got the band back together for the intro music.😁
LOL. It came with Microsoft Clipchamp. Is kind of catchy, though!
Welcome back! As always, great video!
Thanks Rob!
Ray, Your troubleshooting skills and analysis are more valuable than you will ever know. I can't wait for the next one .
@@jimbanner180 Thanks, Jim. I'll try not to be gone so long in the future.

Glad to see you back Ray, I heard Texas is nice
@@TrevorsBench Trevor! Nice to be back, although I can't guarantee I'm all the way back. Still have lots to do.
Great to have you back!

@@The1jonnyz Cool story! Let me know if you get stuck while repairing it.
Thank you Ray. It will be a while as I have a Tek 2246 and 2465 to repair first
@The1jonnyz If you're able to tackle those, you don't need my help... But I might need yours!
Trust me Ray, I'll probably need help with them as well 😂
Hey Ray great to see you again!!! Great video, keep them coming! Take care!!!!
Nice to see you too, Alfonso! I had no idea I'd been gone so long. Apparently time flies even if you're not having fun. 😝
Beautiful up here in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Dawsonville, GA! Great place to relocate to!
Thanks, I'll put it on the list!
Nice report Ray, describing all your problems !

Hmm. Would get me closer to Mouser Electronics!
@raygianelli3612 Yep Im a few hrs from Mouser. I order Monday afternoon, get parts on Tuesday.
I see a 4 gang FM capacitor, this thing must have a good tuner section.
I really didn't give it more than a cursory check to make sure all the functions worked, so I couldn't really say.

The Peak can be repaired by Peak Atlas
I sent mine and a friend's back to England. It was cheaper than replacing them. They have a set repair charge.
