I've learnt so much. Firstly that you can isolate with the two small screws! Then the hex holding nut, and finally that you can take that whole unit out!!! Now I have a hole in the wall, but at least the drop has finally stopped.

Excellent. A simple job but your video gave me the extra clarity I needed. Thank you.

Note that the older version 2011 looks exactly the same but has no grub screw.
When unscrewing it turned partly and got stuck hard, harder than the force I dared apply. Wd40 around the thread and left it overnight. Trying again the next day it started to give and then unscrewed.

I followed every step but when I loosened the actual valve it seemed to me that only the front portion came off. I noticed on your video the valve cartridge shows it covered with a screen. As it looks when you first install. I say this because shower fixture still has the round screen portion in shower fixture. Is this right or am I looking at a different type or set up? I have a Hudson Reed Shower fixture. Any direction would be appreciated thank you

No sealant behind the faceplate? Mine was properly stuck on with sealant.

The mixers seem to often clog up with calcium. I fixed mine by dismantling and greasing with silicon grease a while back, still good. Not sure of the make but for interest here’s the fix video to fix it nearly free (just some grease needed): ua-cam.com/video/k8Aiem2kOgI/v-deo.html

Same problem. The video shows the thermostat being easily withdrawn but mine won't budge.

No I like to see if the cartridge itself can be repaired. I have the problem that there is a sticking point somewhere inside . And it seems inposible to find the right replacement cartridge .

That is going to be a nightmare after fifteen years of use. The retaining screws will be frozen, the face plate retaining rings will be frozen, you'll scratch the face plate with your wrench as you try to loosen them, you'll leave wrench teeth marks in the rings...
