    She was honest which is helpful. Im sure a lot of us would like more videos on the topic of "Behind The Scenes Of The Acting World". For example, a video tour of the best NY and LA acting studios. then creditable and established management agencies. Thanks a lot.

    If your TALENTED that should be all the credit YOU NEED PERIOD. If you need alittle work, then fine go take some classes. But there is a such things as people who are naturally talented and were meant to do this.

      Please offer some names of all these actors who "didn't take classes and have gone on to achieve success." I think you will find it is a very short list indeed.

    So in any of your opinions, should I go take acting classes or go to college?

    • @ZebrazRus
      @ZebrazRus 10 років тому

      College if you are 100% sure about acting. Even if you're 99% sure, take classes. College is more expensive and harder to get out of. If it's super important to you- you'll want to perfect that craft through college. Hope that helps (:

      Some actors had no training of acting at all. It takes mostly luck to become an actor. Classes help though. I think there are no rules. Actually there is one rule and it is to be perseverant.

    • @BruceL33Roy
      @BruceL33Roy 9 років тому +1

      Will Prat Exactly, with all the horrible actors that Ive seen in commericals and movies this past year. There is no way that they took acting classes. Alot of it is just politics and if you look "AESTHETICALLY PLEASING" to studio exes who know nothing anyways. Thats why Hollywood is in the state that its in, its mediocre to be honest. No wonder they make it so hard to become an actor, there too busy trying to protect all the people who they have ties with IN and everyone else OUT. Its sad

    • @willdorak985
      @willdorak985 9 років тому +1

      Bruce L33 Roy I agree. By the way "aesthetically pleasing" to studios make movies look unrealistic. I am tired of watching movies in which every single actor is beautiful. Unfortunetly hollywood don't make movies anymore. They sell products. But I have seen some pretty good movies recently like "12 years a slave", "Joe", etc

      Will Prat all of you guys are helpful, but I seem to struggle with auditioning for stuff or just being apart of film period. where do you find stuff like that without an agent. I have a lot more knowledge now since I posted this comment lol

    If your GOOD then your GOOD, why do these people think all up and coming actors have to get their TOOLS via classes and what not. There are so many famous actor now who didnt take classes and have gone on to achieve success.Sure you can sharpen your skills but if youve got the talent then you got the talent, How man terrible,wooden, just bad actors have weve seen in commercials/movies in the past year huh? So alot of this has been helpful but some stuff in this is just B.S at the same time. Because alot of those actors that I see could use a whole DECADE of classes and yet we see them in major feature films. So to me some this stuff is just B.S. IF YOUR GOOD YOUR GOOD, no classes needed. Just seems like a waste of time to me. ITS ALL POLITICAL, thats why movies and Hollwood suck the way they do right now.

      You make some very valid points here!! I'll add that there are soooooo many ways to break into this business. There's no one way to do this, that's for sure. And I feel that one of the biggest mistakes new actors make is the failure to focus on networking and promotional methods. You no longer have to rely on major studios or representatives to be involved in a creative process...especially with the rise of New Media, which is doing what movies were doing back in 1918 (starting to become a respectable forum).
      A new actor will make the move to Los Angeles, take classes, get headshots, go on auditions and seek other part time work to get by....but they WON'T network and build a following. I would say the bulk of a new actor's effort in today's system should be centered around independent creating and networking (youtube channel, business cards, event attendance, self-submissions, creative collaborations, self-promotional schemes).
      For example, I can't tell you how many times I've suggested to actors to check the schedule for the Grauman's Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Many actors, producers and directors will show up to discuss their films....that place is like a networking hub, with access to high profile people for no more than $22. But many actors are not aggressive with going there (one of many things you can do to break in or at least be seen). They get lost in this cycle of doing the usual and not getting anywhere. Not to say that going there guarantees a job, but if it's about who knows you or being seen, then this would be one way to be surrounded by your goal...AND without going broke to do it.
      Today, there are millions of actors out there, but not everybody will be Merryl Streep or Pacino, Anne Hathaway or Denzel. It's definitely an elitist group...tight knit and you just gotta rub elbows with the right people in the right places. But thanks to the internet, gone are the days of waiting for an opportunity. Now, you literally can create your own success if you have the determination and unyielding will to do so. It's a totally different ball game compared to 25 years ago. But yea man, i couldn't agree with you more on this.
      Having been in and around this business for over 20 years, I know you're speaking the truth, pal!
      peace be unto you.

    She hasn't even worked on anything but shorts.
    What she said is just common sense. You do not have to take an acting class to be an actor there are plenty of actors and actress' who haven't taken class. Some people need to and others don't. You're not doing brain surgery.
