I had that same problem with my textured wall. Switched to that Green Frog tape instead of that blue tape and got nice clean lines on my 2nd paint project.
Lowe’s and Home Depot sell paint can lids made from silicone with a built in pour spout on it. Every time I use one I think the person who invented it is a genius.
Good job Jenna! You did better than some Pro customers I’ve had. Here’s a little Home Depot Paint Associate tip to help you out for next time, you can apply a second coat within 30min - 1hr of the first one, then it’s recommended to remove the tape right after you finish painting while the paint is still wet to insure a crisp clean line, That’s why you had that problem with the edges, it dried over the tape and ripped as you were removing it. (PS - That screw off cap on that paint lid is for attaching a pour spout which they were supposed to give you when they gave you your paint.)
Quick paint tips: After applying tape, paint over edge of where the new color is going with the other paint color. In this case, paint over the edge of the tape that will be the grey side with the white paint. Let dry. Then paint the new color & remove tape as soon as your done painting. Other than that first step, paint shouldn't be allowed to dry on the tape (unless using a matte finish, then its not that big of a deal) What this does is allows the paint color that seeps under the tape to match the paint already there AND seals the gap so the new color can't seep and only goes to the tape... creating a perfect line.
I really hope you can get more subs and reach 1M soon - you deserve it. It will probably be a couple of decades before I can reach 10% of what you have now, but alas, I know my lot in life. Take care Jenna, and you too Justine :)
Jenna to fix the edge after you pill the tape off. You just need to use white caulk on the cracks a little bit at a time and run an old rag over it to wipe up the excess and to spread it :)
Hello, my dad's colleague is a professional painter, they would recommend you to buy a paint power sprayer or use a roller with a primer beneath so it bonds and covers better.
If you want to get a nice sharp line, then should always paint the white color over the tape first. The paint that might slip under the tape will then be white, and not grey, and it won’t be visible. When the white is dry, then you paint the whole wall in the color you want. The tape should then be removed as long as the last layer of paint is still wet. Then you will get such a nice result, even on a wall that aren’t completely smooth :)
Jenna did you move apartments?? Or this is just an office space? Lol And Our nice paint colour!! I wanna do that too!! but Half dark grey and half white lol.
A paint edger with the little rolly wheels would have saved you so much time on the edges... I learned this the hard way 😂 But now I'm a "pro" at painting and it takes way less time and I don't have to tape 😉
You actually done nothing wrong, good job Jenna. Those edges are a pain, you end up touching up the White, and then getting the White on the Grey, and the Grey on the White, and the White on the Grey AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! When that happens I usually use a kids paint brush to touch up, the kinda brush a kid paints a picture with? You get me right...they're good for touch ups.
To prevent the paint seep under the tape, paint the edge you will be covering with the old (or other edge) color of paint. The old color will seep under the tape and seal it off. THEN paint with the new color. You will have a perfect peel!
My family owns a remodeling business and I help my dad work. I know how to paint and I know a tip for you. Once you have placed the tape around where you are paint talk painters caulk and put a line where the edge of the tape and the wall meet and press with your finger and slide across the wall or baseboard the opposite direction so if a start in the right corner I will smear to the left. Let it set for like 5 minutes then start painting. It makes sure paint does run past the tape like what happened to you where it run under the tape because of the texture. I hope you paint more walls in the future and us my tip. Have a good day.

I actually want to the paint my “feature” wall as when I got it professional done it came out too light. I wanted a light grey and it looks white light my ceiling
Make sure you do a second coat with the edging and the rest of the wall. Try taking 4 walls of old ass wallpaper down 😩😩😩 then i had to clean the walls before i even started. Took me a month and a half but i did it by myself. I’m going to dm on IG
Jenna coaching the more supreme but not as intelligent Ijustine. I luv it 💯 aka example right off the bat... ur not safe to be on the ladder, Justine 👍

You have no idea how much I enjoy watching your videos. You’re fun to watch and a light during these less than good times.
I think it’s amazing the relationship Justine and Jenna have. Hope everyone staying safe with there families
You should make more baking videos, they always cheer me up and can take people’s minds off of what’s going on!
This video was actually really satisfying 😂

For the edges - get Painters Pads. They do a nice straight line and you can even get an edge-tool with little rollers.
Ugh I’m too late to learning this lol

Last time I was this early, Jenna was actually drawing Justine against a wall.
You did a good job 👍🏼,
Literally going through the same problem right now... Bought white paint to correct the issue and went over ... again

I want to be quarantined with jenna for a thousand years. 😍😷🥰😷

The great thing about this is that you are making the mistakes I always wonder about when I think of painting my loft.
4:32 Justine playing animal crossing lol
Ur broom handle will fit n the roller it just screws out of the broom and then into handle on the roller

VOC = Volatile organic compound , low voc is basically the fumes/smell it gives off.
Good vid
Around 2:35, Jenna all of a sudden disappears, lol 😆, then comes back into view within secs 😆 😆
Hi jenna!!
❤️❤️❤️
Love you
pretty good job for someone who doesnt paint, lucky you had white walls.
Was I the only one who thought she would paint a Bob Ross painting on here wall
Jenna don’t feel bad That you can’t reach. I’m short too🤣
Any replaceable broom handle is an extension BTW...
Frog tape! No bleed and clean lines!
That’s exactly how I reacted to the magnet on the paint holder!!!!
I actually want to the paint my “feature” wall as when I got it professional done it came out too light. I wanted a light grey and it looks white light my ceiling
cool video talk jenna

She looks like a ninja with that black mask on
She has to be a Virgo!!! Sis I know how it feels!!! #OCD
Hi Jenna I am Janna I want to ask a question
What happened to Matt/nade shot ?
I am very curious 🤔🤔🤔
Jenna coaching the more supreme but not as intelligent Ijustine. I luv it 💯 aka example right off the bat... ur not safe to be on the ladder, Justine 👍
Omg I just realized I am the first view YAY
If u make a w with your roller the go back over it the other way with a w u will not get as many streaks.
