The Jays came in as a 6th seed and lost both games in the first round without every having a lead. Where's the "choke?" They just got outplayed by a team they had no reason to believe they were better than.
Sure it’s a choke. Boneheaded decisions under pressure is a choke. Zero clutch hitting in needed spots, under pressure is a choke. Some teams and some player thrive under the pressure of a playoff series. The Jays collapse top to bottom. You can almost feel it coming. So did the Twins and did something with it
The Jays have made so many peculiar moves that are driven purely by analytics. Someone should tell them that players are not robots. You can't remove your hot hand because some guy in front of a computer says so.
I hear that but don't think it was an analytics that has us score a single run over 2 post season games. In the end, holding the opposition to 3 or less runs should result in a win. So many runners left on base.
@@cameronb4229 Analytics has the Blue Jays playing Chapman when Espinal and Schneider have had hotter bats in the past 30 games than Chapman. People keep saying the Jays need his defense but in reality, the Jays need offense even more.
Exactly, computers are machines, players are human. On a given day a couple pitchers on the roster won't be on. If you switch from someone throwing well like Berrios, you will find that guy having an off day.
87’ and 91’ were a blast to watch. 91’ especially, but that was a different era. Would be fun to see that again but still very unlikely. MLB is going to want Houston/LA for TV numbers. Just watch. The fix is in.

John Schneider doesn't have a clue how to manage a winning team, pulling Berrios when he was playing as well as he did was inexcusable, no matter what analytics he tries to justify it with congrats to the twins though, go beat Houston, it'll be funny
because Schneider did something super similar in game 2 of the Seattle wild card as well with Gausman, took him out way too early which led to the bullpen collapsing (just Kikuchi collapsed this time but still), it's a mistake he's made 2 years in a row now so I don't consider him to be a reliable manager at all for a team that's trying to win The offense absolutely also needs fixing desperately, for what it's worth I feel like Schneider could've made some changes late in the game to try and light a fire, particularly subbing out Belt or Chapman, but he didn't bother
Ignorant, idiotic comments like that are the reason the US is hated all over the world, which you would know if you ever travelled anywhere beyond the reach of your motorhome

@henryludvor6275 my comment had nothing to do with whether or not the raptors deserved that finals. I was just pointing out that a Toronto team had certainly had a playoff run that lead to a championship. If you compare that to any Minnesota teams in the major sports. We haven't had a championship since the Twins back in 1991. No world series, superbowl, or NBA Finals in 32 years and counting
This was a real Blue Jays game. Incomprehensible "clever" managerial move, pulling a solid hot starter early for no intelligible reason. Guerrero 0/4, then gets picked off in scoring position. Nor should he have been batting 3rd; nobody ever called him Mr. Clutch. Varsho sac bunting; this is not the team where you give up outs to move runners into scoring position. Espinal hotter than Chapman; promptly goes 2/2 when finally brought in. Should have started, whatever the pitcher's handedness. Clear the front office in the next few days and start again.
Taking Berrios out is the negative side of managing via analytics rather than baseball sense. 15 years ago, you’d be insane to think of taking out a pitcher that was rolling. Let him cook. I’m not a fan of either team.
Pathetic performance and display from the Blue Jays offense in this series VS. the Twins. If there was ever a doubt that the Jays manager Schneider should be fired, that doubt was removed today. Schneider removes Berrios from the game who was pitching outstanding and had only thrown 47 pitches at that point. He brings in Kikuchi, who immediately gives up 2 runs, and it costs the Jays the game. Those are they type of stupid and moronic decisions that get you fired plain and simple.
Im a Yankee fan but its kind of a slap in the face to Twins fans that two announcers accociated with the Yankees (and AROD of all people) are the announcers for this big moment in Twins history. Almost as annoying in game interviews are for the players and managers. Theyre trying to focus on a game and you have a guy in a suit in the dugout asking tye Blue Jays manager for insight on his decisions while the game is still gping on?? Try doing that with Earl Wesver or Sparky Anderson!
See ya, Guerrero. What a clown. Paid that much and can't even be aware of the Twins second baseman with *the bases loaded.* That was even more idiotic than Schneider pulling Berrios.
I still can’t believe that we packaged Moreno and Gurriel for Varsho. Should’ve gotten rid of Kirk and keep Moreno as our staring catcher. Whoever was involved in this bonehead trade should be fired.

Taking out Berrios that early was not a good move and the Twins took advantage of it. Hopefully Schneider is gone before next season. (or whoever made the call.)
Doubtful, for two reasons. Any Jays fans knows how the offence for this team is non existent. Any Toronto fan has seen their team choke in the playoffs in a variety of ways, especially the Leafs. Sony Gray has been around for a minute and has always had great stuff, happy to see him getting the recognition his stuff should get. My opinion. He couldn’t handle NY and is perfect for Minnesota tbh 💯
I love it, only a Toronto team can pull off such a heartbreaking choke.
Well done boys you're giving the Leafs a real run for their money!
The Jays came in as a 6th seed and lost both games in the first round without every having a lead. Where's the "choke?" They just got outplayed by a team they had no reason to believe they were better than.
There was no choke. You're thinking about last year.
Sure it’s a choke. Boneheaded decisions under pressure is a choke. Zero clutch hitting in needed spots, under pressure is a choke. Some teams and some player thrive under the pressure of a playoff series. The Jays collapse top to bottom. You can almost feel it coming. So did the Twins and did something with it
Yeah they choked they missed their opportunity. They didn’t collapse like last year they just choked from the start.
Jays, Leafs, same thing, pump up the fans ,get their cheques and see ya later
Fully agree.
@@cameronb4229Why does it have to be a binary assessment? Both can be true. You’re definitely thinking like a machine.
Exactly, computers are machines, players are human. On a given day a couple pitchers on the roster won't be on. If you switch from someone throwing well like Berrios, you will find that guy having an off day.
What a game! I am so happy for the Twins!
The last time the Twins won a playoff game I was 3 months old…not only did I see my first playoff win but I seen my first series win!!! #ibelieve
87’ and 91’ were a blast to watch. 91’ especially, but that was a different era. Would be fun to see that again but still very unlikely. MLB is going to want Houston/LA for TV numbers. Just watch. The fix is in.
No world series since 91 this is our time Minneapolis miracle engaged!!!🤘
Only 4 games today but take your sweet time with the highlights.
They do be taking mad long . The nfl has them posted like 15 min after the game 😂🤦🏽♂️
It must be a side hustle for whoever this dude is. Not a priority obviously even though we are in playoff season. SMH.
@@swervo251 I could have but It didnt seem like a very good game to watch. I just checked the online score update. And actually I am glad I didnt watch it. My team is The Orioles but I thought The Jays might win this series.
@@swervo251 I hope it is entertaining at least. I give the O's a 50/50 chance to advance. We shall see.
LFG TWINS!!!
We had some amazing memories in the Metrodome... now its time for Target Field to errupt 💯
Twins are going to the Cinderella team of the american league mark my words
Sike
World Series incoming
Gotta beat the world series champs first.
@@connor12912they won’t get past astros and damn sure won’t beat orioles or rangers
Don’t take this as a salty jays fan. But they barely beat a terribly playing jays team… I wouldn’t get your hopes up. But good luck to them.
I am a huge twins fan go twins
I kinda wish the Blue Jays were at home so they could get boo'd off the field again
The fans deserve some kind of an outlet
They got booed off the field at home last year?
Good. The fans deserve all the misery they can get. Toronto is such a horrible city - raptors, leafs and jays fans are a disgrace to sports.
John Schneider doesn't have a clue how to manage a winning team, pulling Berrios when he was playing as well as he did was inexcusable, no matter what analytics he tries to justify it with
congrats to the twins though, go beat Houston, it'll be funny
How does that even matter when the blue jays scored 1 run in 2 games
I was thinking same but did it really matter that much? They didnt score and Vladdy was worthless.
because Schneider did something super similar in game 2 of the Seattle wild card as well with Gausman, took him out way too early which led to the bullpen collapsing (just Kikuchi collapsed this time but still), it's a mistake he's made 2 years in a row now so I don't consider him to be a reliable manager at all for a team that's trying to win
The offense absolutely also needs fixing desperately, for what it's worth I feel like Schneider could've made some changes late in the game to try and light a fire, particularly subbing out Belt or Chapman, but he didn't bother
I see your point
He managed them to one and a half winning seasons and two post-season births. Stop talking.
That berrios pitching change might have been the dumbest managerial decision of all time
Carlos correa back in Houston wow
As a Yankees fan and an American. Thank you twins
Ignorant, idiotic comments like that are the reason the US is hated all over the world, which you would know if you ever travelled anywhere beyond the reach of your motorhome
Don't like the thought of a Canadian team making the playoffs?
I agree with him and Im Canadian. We have the worst teams and fans especially in Toronto.
Yeah you're right lol@@Justin-wk5mi
Listening to the announcer I thought I was watching a Yankees game. So annoying. Thank God there wasn't a home run. Congrats Twins. fiirst home team to sweep.21 years is a long time fans. Good fortune to your team.
Analytics is for regular season, Play off should be played with instinct, with experience, intensity and courage. Same thing happened to the Rays in the WS against the Dodgers when the manager removed Snell.
Carlos Correa was the MVP of this series
Let’s go get that third ring 💍 boys. GO TWINS!!
John Schneider's a goof! 😠 I know you can't win a game without runs but I think keeping José Berríos in the game would of bought more time or maybe even brought the game into extra innings and kept the score at zero zero.
Am a Twins fan from England UK 👌🏻
Let's go twins, I picked them to make the ALCS , go knock off those Astros!!!!
The Phillies are coming for you baby girl!!!!!!! Hahaha!!!!!! You scared?
You would like the Astros to be knocked off wouldn't you?! Makes your job easier, but too bad Phillies coming to town
Man let’s have a ‘91 reunion. How about that?
@@skoolynugenator1802 sounds good to me
@@syl-x9u nah I'd rather beat the Astros in the world series again, but it would be cool to see the twins beat them and shut that crummy Astros fan base up for once
As a cub and tiger fan, the twins deserve their sweet victory. Good luck in the next round Minesota!
If a Toronto team makes the playoffs in any sport, never expect them to be playing long.
I recall the raptors winning the finals recently. You have no pitty from Minnesota fans lol we have gotten nothing!
I guess you don't watch the CFL.. the Argonauts won last year
Before you make a comment maybe go do some research 🤡
@@jadonschulz636 The raptors didn't deserve that championship and you know it. Golden State was performing at 30% with an injured KD and Klay and the refs threw that series so hard in the raptors favour.
If you don't picture an asterisk beside that championship, then you're delusional.
John Schneider. " He Gone "! Vladimir. Serious brain fog. He did have a wonderful pose at second base!
I knew Twins would win this.
Why?
@@red3here because they are a better team than the Blue Jays
@@johnblze667 Blow Jays
watching Springer Correa and Astros goes to playoff is awesome
This was a real Blue Jays game. Incomprehensible "clever" managerial move, pulling a solid hot starter early for no intelligible reason. Guerrero 0/4, then gets picked off in scoring position. Nor should he have been batting 3rd; nobody ever called him Mr. Clutch. Varsho sac bunting; this is not the team where you give up outs to move runners into scoring position. Espinal hotter than Chapman; promptly goes 2/2 when finally brought in. Should have started, whatever the pitcher's handedness. Clear the front office in the next few days and start again.
Boneheaded decisions under the pressure of the playoffs, is the blue jay way. Seen this movie before
thanks fellaz we needed that. let that pitching is the bomb,,,
Fire Mattingly, Fire Schneider, Trade Vladdy, Fire Atkins
Dont resign chapman, make kirk lose weight or trade him, get rid of belt, varsho.
Toronto has taken the baton from Minnesota as the easiest 1st round exit in baseball
AGREED 💯
Last year hurt when the Mariners kicked us out, but this year we have no excuses for beating ourselves
When a pitcher has his stuff and is dealing you dont take.him out bc of a walk tf
I think the Twins surprised a lot of people. I really hope they can beat Houston.
Astros in 5. Gotta say though Minnesota has the best uniforms in baseball right now. Classic 🔥
They look exactly like the Orioles whites.
Astros are different in the postseason and it's hard to win in the juicebox but we shall see

God Berrios was dealing. Still can’t believe any manager would consider taking a veteran pitcher like that out. Insanity
Sacar a Berrios fue una mala decisión y la de Vlad fue peor
21 years in the making for the Twins. The Toronto Blue Jays but up a pretty good fight. You made it into October 2023.
Who do you go for?
Finally! Now off to the ALDS.
John Schneider makes 2016 Buck Showalter seem intelligent
A team's victory. We saw players hungry. Good job pitchers.
Try doing that with Earl Wesver or Sparky Anderson!
wait so why was berrios taken out so early? Injury or did he just take him out to take him out?
They took him out because they wanted aleft handed pitcher. Worked out perfectly as you saw...
100% pulling for the Twins in the ALDS.
Vladdy isn't a rookie anymore and he can't afford to make that kind of rookie mistake
he needs to loose weight
Next Season they will go far in the playoffs, it's best to move on, no matter what, see what they can do in the Off-season,
See ya, Guerrero.
Wishing Byron Buxton⚾ a healthy recovery - it's tough not seeing him in the postseason lineup - As an Orioles 🐧⚾ fan still remember Cedric🐧 robbing Bryon of the two home runs back in the Summer 🌞 and the exchange of smiles between the two CFs it's all a part of baseball ⚾ both Class Acts😊

The Twins are awesome
so sad that the jays lost :( hopefully they will do better next year.
😭
I hope they do worse and not make the playoffs. This kind of performance by the Jays deserves to be lost and forgotten.
Taking out Berrios that early was not a good move and the Twins took advantage of it. Hopefully Schneider is gone before next season. (or whoever made the call.)
I hope he stays. that way the jays can stay bad and probably get worse even.
Pretty incredible moment for Trevor Plouffs Twins
All the Jays fans who were talking about a two game sweep are real quiet now lmao
Just like twins fans are gonna be real quiet when the Astros curb stomp them back to reality.

Doubtful, for two reasons. Any Jays fans knows how the offence for this team is non existent. Any Toronto fan has seen their team choke in the playoffs in a variety of ways, especially the Leafs. Basically we were quiet cuz we knew we would get swept not the other way around. Nice try, but no. I’m actually thankful to the Twins, spares me the hope to see this team play boring baseball.
