I went to Israel and the west bank a few years ago, and I was deeply disturbed by the sight of the numerous check points and 'watching' towers along the walls that separate Israel from the west bank. I mentioned this to my Israeli friend who explained --those walls/towers/check points weren't there from the start; they were erected because of the suicide bombers ----check points are there to protect Jews, rather than to oppress Arabs as we are usually told.

The problem with this conflict is that the Palestinians have been denied their rights to live on the land they were born in. A Jewish convert from Ethiopia or north western India or Uganda have more rights than a Palestinian whose family have lived in the land for generations.
