I have the monkey special too smells great. There is more too the name, if you aren’t a fan of the band you most likely won’t understand. But I’m the 70s Tony had a guitar and put a sticker of a monkey playing I believe a violin on it, it was kind of just a joke I’m sure he saw the sticker and thought why not. Gibson ended up liking and treating a whole custom iommi model called the Gibson sg monkey special.
So glad your setting a classy well spoken and mature example for the younger generation.

The Gibson "Monkey" SG Special is the name of Tony's favourite and now signature guitar. That's the reason behind the fragrance's name.

I tried this at Scent Bar in NYC ! It is very nice but not as good as the original. The original you are in heaven. This is pleasant. The apple is not too strong. I wish there was like a caramel or peach instead of apple.
Just tried it today. Smells pretty great but gotta spend more time with it
The original gives off a Carlisle/Layton like vibe.
I've really been wanting to try those Xerjoff Tony Iommi fragrances! He's one of my favorite guitarists, and truly an inspiration. He's the Black Sabbath guitarist, and had a long, amazing career despite cutting his middle and ring fingertips off in an industrial accident at his regular day job. He made himself prosthetic fingertips and used lighter gauge banjo strings, and used a lot of power chords. Like the intro to "Paranoid" or "War Pigs" or even "Iron Man".
Same here. I've been wanting to try the original, and was excited when I learned about this one, but for some reason it keeps eluding me.
Definitely try the original. One of my favorites for sure. I even got a compliment from a patients family member while they were discussing withdrawing care on thee patient. I asked if the room full of people had any questions for me while I was there and a guy said yes I have a question. What kind of cologne do you wear. I said oh I collect colognes so I wear a lot of different stuff. He said well which one were you wearing yesterday. My girl loved it so now I gotta buy it. He wasn't happy about the price but I'm telling you it's amazing stuff.

Just brought a 50ml home today. Great stuff and I like this better than Monkey Special which I'm also fond of. The name Monkey Special was a homage to Tony Iommi's guitar by Gibson.
Monkey special , is a reference to the first guitar he used to record the classic black sabbath albums such as paranoid & the self titled album..its 1 of the.most reverred rock/metal guitars. Tony himself, os the greatest guitar player to have ever lived..
The old version is so so strong! Be careful if this one is just as good
What’s the best season to wear?
I think it was released during the wrong season. I bought it 2 months ago but can only use it during colder days even though i m located near the alps in europe. I like it but there are only few occasions I could wear it in public.

I don't necessarily agree. The first one was good but it was so much more situational. A lot of times I just wasn't in the mood to wear it and found it sitting there untouched. The new version is just as nice but just feels a lot more approachable/wearable

tony iommi defied is my least favorite. I love the opening of Defied, but when the fragrance settles, you smell sandlewood and musk. Defied won't give you an affluent, luxurious, or exclusive vibe typeish scent; it's quality actually reminds me of the fragrance oils you get from the neighborhood flea market or the warm musk frangence oil that Muslims men often wears.
