Weeknd is just a second-hand record producer where he tells the producer what he wants or wants to change from an already made or started song. It's like praising Leanardo DiCaprio (Weeknd/Singer) for making the movie Inception, calling it his movie, when in reality it was Christopher Nolan (Producer) who directed/produced/Scripted and made the base story of the Movie. Anyways, point given.

He's not a producer who sits on the computer to compose for hours, knows how to run all the engineering equipment or software and do mix chains and knows how to engineer as well. So just stop it. But don't get it twisted.... I'm not saying this is for every song.... sometimes he's 1st in the production credits cause he leads the project or started it and let's the real producer do his/her magic. So don't get your panties in a bunch. A lot of times, Singers have come into Max Martin's studio (& other producers/engineer's studio) and get shown his catalogue of instrumentals & hits that are already finished.... Sometimes they start from scratch. It all depends if they're going for an album or a single but it all has to sound cohesively from the same world for the album. Oh and those names of producers ARE BIG NAMES...... Some of the top producers in the industry. Remember that without the producer and engineer and record label, a Singer/Rapper is nothing on a international level. It doesn't work the other way around cause instrumental music can be successful by itself, just look at EDM, but an acapella with no instrumental is nothing to the ears.
