The Challenge That Actually Makes Me Quit?? [Genshin Impact Swords Only]

- We've faced numerous challenges in our Swords Only playthrough, like the archery challenge, the Electro Monument conundrum, and many more. But this may in fact be the worst of any of them... as it's the only one to make me... give up?
We set out in hopes of getting a Sapwood Blade for Bennett, though I'm not sure we'll ever be able to get our hands on it now.
Swords Only in Genshin Impact can be quite challenging at times. However, as the self-proclaimed master of "Weapon" Only challenges in this game, I am able to best any obstacle (probably).
HoYoVerse put out a tweet saying "Polearm Impact"... So I decided to take it upon myself to make a new account, but only use characters who wield a sword because absolutely nobody asked me to.

Moosashi with his traveller only serie managed to charge attack the green things by timing the geo mc boulder expiration with a charge attack

moosashi actually did this with only aether on the traveler only series!! they found that by placing starfell sword a very specific way and waiting for it to expire, you can do a “falling charge attack”

15:45 ok so i can explain, Ayaka's charged attack has a special property where it will track a target near Ayaka at the start of the attack animation, so even if Ayaka's position changes throughout the attack it will hit that initial target once it's been locked onto it, so that's what happened there and why Ayaka was able to hit the dendro target from afar

You could've gotten the sword as early as 6:08 in this vid -- all you need is to be able to access the aranara tree which unlocks after finishing part 1, and there's an NPC (named Aravinay) next to it that sells the blueprints. Finishing part 1 should've given you the currency needed to buy 1 blueprint.
You should have a world quest (called "Trees and Dreams") in your quest log that leads you to the tree. It's in a cave next to the statue of the seven in vanarana. At 6:00, you can see some of the yellow grapple thingies to the top right above Ayato - those lead directly to the tree and the NPC who sells the blueprints.
I made the same mistake, I finished the whole godforsaken quest before realizing I could get the sword
Also I didn’t know how to switch into the “dream”, so I looked up guides and NONE OF THEM TOLD ME I HAD TO ENTER THE DREAM TO GET THE MERCHANT TO SHOW UP

I knew Ayaka's charged attacks adjust their height automatically when there's a target nearby. I found out when I forgot to bring a ranged character to the Oceanid and it spawned its birds.

Technically, you can already collect the weapon. There is an aranara next to the tree of dreams, then you exchange a paper that you should've collected already with the recipe for the sapwood blade. I'm sorry if this doesn't make too much sense
Java still needs to get to Vananara.
@@glam4663 he has already unlocked Vanarana, you can see that because he has the quest "rythm that leads to the gloomy path" active. To unlock vanarana, and unlock the "quest" that unlocks the tree of dreams, you only need to finish "The world of Aranara" which comes before "Rythm that leads to the gloomy path"
You can actually get to the tree without even unlocking Vanarana
As someone who completed this quest months ago and knows about all the puzzles, I understand that you did not know but i got physical, mental and emotional damage trying to see you do this.
Just use geo-mc, you can place the construct right on top of the ring. Then when the construct is about to disappear you need to use charged attack. It's all about timings, but it's doable. DON'T GIVE UP!!!
Ayaka's aoe on charged attacks is actually enough to hit the ring when just standing on the constact attched to it, so there's no need to time it perfectly on geo mc. And it's really easy to do, i tested it and got it first try. The hardest part was to get on top of the construct
@@odiyellow567 i didn't test it, so i don't know the details, i just saw people doing it. Also i never pulled for Ayaka, so i dunno how she works. I do catalyst challenge for fun, and i had to wait for Scara in order to pass this obstacle and it was barely enough to reach it. So yeah, this challenge can be a bit annoying.

In withering zones you don't have to cleanse the short ball like thingies just 3 near the center that also have a more root like structure and have a red aura like trail that goes to the big center thingy.
Wait something is challenging the guy who did the archery challenge with swordsmen? Now that's something interesting and worth seeing
6:08 Not during the quesline, but when it got to locating 64 of those all over the map for that room of chests...
8:31 Those flowers in odd places shooting at you are always optional. Every withering zone contains 3 long flower buds linked to the middle of the zone and that's all you need to destroy to destroy the middle and the zone with it. And you can see links from the middle pointing where those 3 long flower buds actually are.

@@ericyang1401 Nah, I rarely ever do and figured that in the first or second fight. I mean, middle pointing in 3 directions and there's something at the end. Whatever that might be?
That still didn't stop me from picking the wrong ones first after I figured that out just because I can. Here that's just not a an option. At least not a fun one.
I'm pretty sure Ayaka's charged attack while it looks like normal slashes in front of her if there is a target that the attack can auto aim lock onto then it will hit it pretty high,the only sword character that can deal with annoying flying enemies like some of those flying mushrooms that literally do nothing in Abyss other than flying around to waste your time so Ayaka's charged attack was a 100% sure win.
By the way the blueprints are sold to you by an aranara(one of the two) next to the tree of Sumeru in the aranara village but idk when exactly during the quest it actually unlocks,it may be unlocked as the village is or it may be unlocked at the end of the questline.
Moosashi completed this whole thing only using the Traveler so it is possible tho it costs sanity.
The only good thing in all of this is:
the blueprints near the tree of dreams tbh
So we're all gonna act like he couldn't just grab the sapwood blade when he unlocked vanarana and instead watch him suffer for 4 hours just for him to not get it anyway

@@francke5148 There is an Aranara named Aravinay near the Tree of Dreams. Buy the blueprint from him
From what I read the aranara next to the dream tree gives you the blueprint

You can put geo mc’s rocks on the rings and then charge attack as it breaks and it will register as a hit
the fact that you already would be able to unlock the sword before you did that part of the quest 😭😭
As a person who has finished the all the aranyaka quest if you read the dialouge its kinda wholesome
Ayaka worked because her charge attack has a kind of homing effect which locks onto the target!
BTW; Ayaka's Charged attacks have auto-aim. They're more like a projectile than a normal charged attack, however the important thing I learned today is that they auto-aim onto the targets!

you can actually place travelers geo construct on the thing and if you get the right placement you can charge attack on it-............
I'm pretty sure you can get Sapwood Blade by doing the other parts of the Aranara quest. For example, there's a side quest (I think it starts at the cooking pot near the first statue of the seven in Sumeru) that ended up giving me a material to exchange for the recipie for Sapwood Blade. (Also, I belive the quest is entirely in the overworld so it should be MUCH easier to complete) Not sure if this works for the other Aranara side quests, but it's definetly a much easier alternative. I hope this helps!
you also get two "stories" when completing the quest that lets you unlock the tree, so you'll already have two of them when you unlock it :)
Hey Java, you can place the traveller's starfell sword boulder directly on the ring. Do that and use Kazuha/Albedo to get ontop of it. Time your charge atk with the expiration of the starfell sword boulder and hit the ring with a charge atk while falling. Easy as that :p
At ~ 14:45 you could've put geo lumine construct right onto the thing you need to hit. Then you have to get to it and you can stand on it. Then you can use any charged attack in range to activate it.
I saw it in Noblies video, when he tried this domain with his claymore only team.

At 6:10 you can see him hitting the thing with geo traveller
We'll never get a skip button but I think a x2 speed on the dialogues would be more possible. I always suggest it in the surveys.

So glad everyone is suggesting Moosashi’s videos. Even if Java goes and gets the blueprint like he can already do at the tree of dreams, I hope he tries to do some of the ring challenges with the Starfell sword method.

Yeah prepare to need a lot of Dendro and/or bow characters in Sumeru. Dendro MC is your best friend for most Dendro needs (just be careful with Pyro like Benny), and Geo MC is decent to bypass bow puzzles to some extent.

You don't have to do that specific part of the quest if you do another one like the cooking one you could get a story and you can exchange that at an aranara near the tree of vanarana for the sapwood blade.

You actually dont need to do that domain to get the blueprint of Sapwood blade... Just unlock the Aranara village right after you spoke to them go to the tree thing where you exchange dendro sigil and there is a Aranara there who will exchange you the Blueprint...!!!

Seriously though I think 90% of other youtubers would give up and just use a bow character yet you will just spend hours using your creativity trying to come up with a way you can do it without doing it the conventional and easy way. This is why I watch you. You are severely underrated for the sheer amount of dedication you put into these accounts.
as for the puzzle around 9:00 I think, a youtuber named Moosashi once completed it with only Geo Traveler.

Ayaka's charge attack just like Raiden's when she's in burst state ; target and actually hit around the enemy targeted, that's why they can hit inside Venti burst for exemple.

Java-san, I loved Aranyaka quest line very much. I didn’t actually understand your frustration until recently. I’ve started a new account to play through the story again bcuz I forgor many things. But I soon realised that this is not enjoyable anymore. It was interesting the first time I played, but for the second time the feeling of novelty is completely gone but all the boring dialogues are still in place. When I thought of completing lantern rite on both accounts, I just ditched this thought right at the beginning. Ain’t no way I’d do that again. But still, for the very first time they all decently interesting, so I never skip.

The Aranara quest line is one of my favorites! I have learned to laugh at the people requesting a skip button because they either are unessicarily speedruning or have decided to run multiple accounts.

yeah people complaining about genshins quests tickle me, because genshin is primarily built around quests and exploration yet people get pissy when they "have to" do something that isnt combat.
@@ciciamanda. its amazing bc genshin players love complaining that the game doesnt have content, but when the game does have content that r quests, its now "boring." ofc i do want endgame content thats not just spiral abyss, but its extremely hypocritical to say this game doesnt have lore nd content when aranyaka and the desert quest exist

I also find it pretty goofy that when they say end game content they're only referring to combat-content. Both the teapot and tcg are endgame content, but they pay those no mind, they just wanna beat shit up (which honestly i understand, but its silly that they act like endgame content only means combat)
And people who complain that theres nothing to do and then complain about "having to" do events lol
You don’t need to do all of this as soon as you unlock the tree of dreams (which I THINK you’ve unlocked??) the Aranara next to the tree of dreams gives u the blueprint!! :D

There is a Aranara near the Sumeru tree that sells the blueprints. You can get one as soon as you have access to the tree. Just make sure you get the right one.
My main team used to only consist of sword characters - one of them being kamisato ayaka - and the way that i did the first aranyaka domain was by using her, and watching that was an eyesore

I haven't even done the rhythm part of Arayanka but I already have the Sapwood Blade. I believe you only need to reach Vanarana Tree of Dreams and the billet from Lv4 of the tree which isn't too hard. For the exchange, you should have one of the item "Stories of you and the Aranara" right after you finished the quest talking to the Aranara chief, Araja in the beginning.

At first I hated the quest line, but it has grown on me. Especially the end with the first golden Nara plottwist
I do actually think ayaka has the biggest charge attack hitbox
You don't have to finish with that part of the quest just check that anara by the tree in its night form
the withering zone spotted from afar that appears right at the first second of the video triggered me more than the not unlocked waypoint
Ayaka has a crazy charged atk range!!
In withering zones there are usually 3 longer plant stalks and you only have to destroy those 3 before the big one shows up. The smaller plants/mounds are only there to be annoying and damage you

It took me a while to figure out that mirage multiple doorways thing but in the withering zones you only need to destroy the ones connected to the main thing there are some that just shoot stuff at you that are not required to destroy to complete it
You can actually place geo traveler rocks on the lil' flying things and start a charge attack as they break so that you hit the lil' flying thing while falling down. I didn't figure that out moosashi did (I think).
Ok I havent watched the entire video yet but the title scares me. I finally get to see Java doing challenges again, I hope this isn't the end >

Don't worry, you're not alone. This quest broke me. Possibly it ruined all Sumeru for me. May have also contributed to me quitting. This quest hurt me and I may need therapy now. No Java, you are not alone, I hate the Aranyaka and sometimes I break into a cold sweat after waking up after dreaming I may still be doing this quest to this very day.

The skill of Keqing,when aimed, can used her charged attack to convert her skill into a charged attack
try albedo’s elevator then ayaka’s charged attack, as it auto tracks within a certain distance
Hi java I know how you can beat the domain.
You need to make sure the fungi is at really low help so when the charged attack hits it,the fungi dies and the dendrograna goes to the ring
I remember when I did this quest (i have 3/4 sword characters on my team) and it was terrifying
I think it might be possible to stand on the dendro globe thing (if I remember correctly I saw it in noblies claymores only episode 26, even though he couldn't charge attack at the ring, because claymores don't hit vertically high, he did stand on the globe with Itto once)
