This! Exactly! This is the main point of it all. I never get why Punk's been called the bad guy or the "cancer" in this situation. In the past, maybe. But some people were so used to bringing up how he was this and that even to the point when it does not even make sense with the present AEW drama. And dirt sheet writers are trying to shove that kind of narrative down our throat even when it is completely disconnected.

He handled the scrum wrong even if he had an issue with Tony’s handling of it. You just don’t dump all over the company and your boss like that. The fight I have no idea since we don’t truly know what happened with it. As for the shit leading to the show? Who knows. But clearly a huge failure of management by Tony on it. If you were planning to have this show and center it on Punk like it seems things should e been hammered out months ago. If the Steel thing was a no go for Tony then he should’ve put his foot down months ago and they agree or they move on. The idea that they’re still going back and forth at this point is genuinely just inept management.

Why do all of the Punk fans conveniently ignore that Punk is a toxic person? I really dont understand how his fans, and Cornette, overlook Punks very obvious toxic behavior. Everywhere he goes there is drama but it's always, conveniently, the company's fault. There are more wrestlers that don't get along with him then ones that do. The common denominator is Punk. But his fans, and Cornette, will defend him and overlook the very, very obvious fact that the guy is a toxic person who shouldn't be looked up to. He says he is all for helping women and womens rights but if you look at his past interviews and comments he's used and abused women before. He says he's straight edge but admitted to using ambien, which is a narcotic. There are also pictures of him with a beer in his hand from back in the day. He's a hypocrite who conveniently came back to wrestling when his MMA career was a complete dumpster fire, the show he was involved with was going nowhere and his inking for marvel was going nowhere. These are all facts that his fans readily ignore.
Was he great at one time? Of course, but he doesn't belong in the ring anymore. His wrestling is weak, he injures easily, and his diva attitude breaks apart whatever cohesion the locker room has. Let this sink in; Jericho is older than him, takes more serious bumps then him and doesn't injure as easily as him. His time has come and gone. And the Punk fans need to realize that putting down the old dog is better for him then letting him continue in the state he's in. And no I'm not an Omega or bucks fan, I cant stand them either. That’s a lot different than taking non prescribed medication to get a ‘high’ if you break your back and you’re straight edge are you gonna tough it out or take the pain medication they give you to ease the pain for an obvious problem? Seems like a silly argument. I’m a huge punk fan and I think this whole situation was blown out of proportion. Especially since punk hasn’t even had the proper chance to explain hisself. I mean yeah you can really, nobody even knew for sure it was the elite who said anything. Not only that even if it was Punk is so focused on the dirt sheets and so focused on things that don't matter he will drag it down. If the EVPs said those things and leaked stuff they're wrong 100% and shouldn't have. Even then Punk just beat Mox clean at a PPV and unprovoked by anybody whatsoever and no questions asked to him Punk freaks out and flips out about some dirt sheet rumors and puts the company in turmoil for months. Just think about it. Hardly any issues before Punk got there. Then no issues till Punk starts reading dirt sheets, then look at it like this, hangman goes into business and was wrong for that for sure. Punk gets a clean win yet again over the top champion who was hangman and then that wasn't enough. Punk even tho he is "professional" goes out after taking his title and buries him on live tv. So we get past that and now we hear a new report every other day about some Punk drama. Not the elite, not hangman, not anybody but Punk and a little about TK. Why is it that CM Punk is tied to every drama filled Bs crapshoot report? Punk either grows up and stops getting upset about dirt sheets or he leaves that's it. If Punk isn't the problem why do they have to create a brand new show splitting talent in half to each because people don't wanna work with him. That's not just the elite by the way. They don't want to either but reports say a lot of the locker room doesn't like him. At the end of the day all of this is happening for the most part because of Punk. At least 75-80 percent of the blame is on Punk. Hangman deserves a little bit, omega and the bucks even less than that, and TK the most aside from Punk. That alone is a fire-able offense as far I'm concerned, but Punk didn't go and kick in the Buck's dressing room door. They went after him. But if that was the case then the Elite and Punk would be getting fired and staying that way too. So if we're already operating a business where you keep people on staff that had a fist fight, there's nothing uniquely egregious about Ace Steels behaviour and he has just as much right to be there as anyone else. My opinion, Cody vs Dustin has still been the best match produced by AEW (though credit the Runnels more for that) followed by nearly all the dog collar matches. Just look at who was involved in those matches versus who is being shown prominently on TV. Rare exception is the Darby vs MJF match from Full Gear. Darby and MJF are the exception to the youth league in AEW and are beyond the curve right now.
Point is, talent is constantly pushed in all the wrong ways in often poorly gimmicked matches (i.e. exploding death match 😆.) Talent is built short term and promptly butchered constantly. MJF is the only real star and wouldn't blame him if he left.
Biggest problem, aside from administrative, is all the dirt sheet "leaks" or info based on "undisclosed sources" forcing public criticism from backstage. These shenanigans never would've happened (on this scale) 20+ years ago.
What happened to ability to conceal secrecy (i.e. Jon Huber's situation) and degenerate to this bullsh!te?!

They’re not growing anything. Their first few episodes with him back will be elevated but then they’ll taper off

Big picture regarding the whole backstage fight...we've heard just as bad or worse happening backstage in WWE during the attitude era and before...and they shrugged it off and kept making money.

I was honestly shocked that people were just so outraged by what Punk and The Elite did like Punk hasn't had locker room confrontations before. It's wrestling, a business fueled by money, ego, and testosterone and you're expecting diplomacy? Could it have been handled differently without it getting physical? Of course. But don't be surprised when it doesn't. Even when I was a ref on the indies it happened. Once again, it's wrestling.

The 'legal representative' Megha or whatever her name is, should've been the first to let go. Showed complete incompetence of her role by letting those 3 into Punk's locker room in such heated climate in her presence. But of course she is a long time professional acquaintance of the Khans, so nothing will come out of it

Only two ways it should have went down. The corperate way, everyone involved gets fired. And the professional wrestling way, they make an angle out of it and everyone gets paid. Everything else is someone messing up.
