well, I have shared my idea about the possible revamp. you can check it at drive.google.com/file/d/1NtiR7dxAzTjtNXALdGhvjRXynWCn23-y/view?usp=drivesdk .
@@a.m.rifkia.3rd493 uh nice! Very well cuttet! I thought some noob wants to share his version with not a single RREEEEE. But you managed to put both in it- wonderful ❤️🤗
The song is over 1000 years old. Shum is an Old Slavic god of the forest and at the same time this is a ritual song for invoking spring after a long winter, and at the same time an allegory of getting rid of a long covid anxiety. One dancer is the first from the crowd who began to come to life and transmit the vibe to the rest
this is a Ukrainian folk song-vesnyanka, which is designed to wake up spring after a dark winter. Such songs and rites are more than 1000 years old I'm glad you liked it 🇺🇦✌️👍
I've been waiting for your reaction to SHUM!!! 🙌🙌🙌 This song gives me life!!! It's my top pick, and it's not just because Ukraine is one of my favourite countries in Eurovision
I've never imagined I would hear psyhodilic techno music on Eurovision stage, and here is Ukraine who managed to surprise us again, lol, i love it! They will qualify for sure and such a brave, daring, current music deserve to be in top 10 this year. thanks for your reactions Alesia, you're such smart, fun and cool lady, always enjoy to watch you 🙂
As always Azerbaijan will give Ukraine one of the hightest points. We love Ukraine. Solovey was amazing and this one also in another level. Good reaction :)
I love how the song itself is about summoning the spring, but the video is about summoning the end of the pandemic. The parallels are a bit heavy handed, but I'm SO HERE FOR IT.
I love you vibing to this. I was born in ukraine, moved out at age 8, and Ukrainian folktronica is one of my favourite genres ever now. I love it so much and they did it so good. I'm proud to be listening to the new version of my ancestors' music but just modernized. I hope more Ukrainian folktronica bands will become famous. Another fave of mine is Yuko, they broke up recently but their songs are amazing. I can just rave to my folk songs? Uhm...yes? I really need to rewatch this reaction, the most appreciative of our music I've seen so far. In soul, I'm ukrainian. In matter, I'm austrian. But this brings sort of music brings me back to my childhood so much, especially since my mom is a musician and worked in music when we lived there. Edit: watched it 5 times now. Best reaction to it so far and makes me so happy. So this reaction isn't boring at all, I feckin LOVE IT!! Video goes straight into my favourites.
I just discovered this song and i am already no lie 3 hours totally obsessed with this song. Its truly an amazing song, best entry ever. Your reaction was not borring dear, it was honest and indeed what the song does to people.
тому коноплі і заготовили для цього ритуалу. fur coat is a layer of snow ice that melts in the spring, but here the word is broken, there are two understandings - birth and conception. or the sprout broke through the snow to the spring sun. or the entrance to the womb, and hemp is the same painkiller that was given to the young during the first birth as a painkiller. therefore hemp was prepared for this ritual.
@@evhenveles Thank you. I wondered about this symbolism. This confirmed it. Does blowing/sowing carry something like it, too? I imagine the double meaning of sprkng planting plus blowing smoke into the person, who is in pain?
This is the best reaction. And I've seen a lot of them today)) You hear, see and feel the highlights of the video. And most importantly, you are sincere. It was nice to watch. Thanks!
I love how unique this is, and I think that it can be edited down to 3 minutes without ruining the song. I’m not sure how the average Eurovision viewer will react to this I think qualification will come down to the staging because I think bad staging would kill this song. Overall another great entry for Ukraine wishing them good luck this year :)
Shum is short for Shumailo, who was a got of the forest in ancients slavs mythology. This particular song is one of "vesnyanka" type of songs that our ancestors used to sing at the beginning of spring to cast winter and cold away and to wake up nature from witer sleep. This specific vesnyanka is believed to be over a thousand years old. Greetings from Ukraine
Ukraine! For that, to understand reason of clip, melody and words, it is needed to be rooted in Ukrainian traditions and history! Many disguised things that not so it easily to understand to the spectator.
Solovey was so fantastic. I was very skeptical about this one but the more I listen to it, the more I love it. It will never win because the majority love generic dance-pop trash on Eurovision but I hope it will reach the top 10.
Oh this is qualifying... no doubt! I'm interested to see how they get it into 3 minutes, but I love it. I was on your team last year too, I had Solovey in my top 10, so I'm glad they're back and back with something so good.
i think i never was so divided by a song like this one- its nerve-racking and awesome at the same time. i dont love the repetitive singing of the same notes over and over again. but i love the different elements they use like the flute in the beginning- or other experimental instrumental sources i cant even tell its name. definitely a new level of crazyness.
Thank you, Alesia. This song is a mixture of modern music and archaic way of ukrainian vocalisation which gives the effect of hypnosis. The song is about re-birth, starting totally a-new. Shamanic rythmes, self-healing sining..... Something like this. Greetings from Ukraine!
I could see this bodying the televote, but also being too much for jurors. Regardless it’s probably gonna be top of my ranking for this year. It’s exceptional.
yeah the jurors are not going to go for this, I'm betting it's going to end up somewhere in the top-10, maaaaybe top-5. Realistically, however, this is a great party song that also come with a sweet meaning, which is great, obviously.
I think this is an improvement from last year. This and France are the ones that I've felt have improved and while France's has been a giant jump in quality, this one is like going from borderline qualifying to in the finals with a good song to for sure qualifying with a good song.
Shum means sounds but in the song they sing about a shum and a shuba which is a type of coat... When the music is calmer on the beginning, it says that they were sewing a shuba and when the music starts bumping, it says that they are untying the shuba
You should listen to jamala 1944: the winner of esc 2016! When she hit the first notes and watched her face I knew she would win! And it’s breaking my heart that her story is more relevant than ever - I could cry my eyes out! All my love and strength to ukraine people! We won’t let you down, we fight, love and cry with you

I’m sooo interested to see how the 3 minute cut turns out. But this is authentic, hypnotic, unique, and just so *interesting*
It MUST qualify
I am debating with myself if this is my favourite Eurovision song EVER
haha, it is a bit like a Slavic anthem, combining the clubbing theme with the ancient mythology
Well its mine!!
I really do like 1944, but this is far more hopeful.
It's either this or Bulgaria's song from 2007. I'm a sucker for this kind of vocals.
