What does this outcome say about both teams?
Creighton shot extremely well at 3 and UConn had no defense to stop it.
It's hard to make statements about teams when the game has clear outlier factors (crazy 3 point accuracy in this case)

I was at this game and am at nearly every Creighton home game for the last 17 years. The CHI center has NEVER been this loud before.
I’ve been a Creighton fan since I moved to Nebraska in 2019 and I have to say the same thing. This was the best game I’ve ever been too.

@@staffryte951Humbling is an odd way to put it. They are nothing but good kids that want to win. And id argue that most UConn fans (like myself) are very good people. The issue is when you purposely look for those fans, you’re gonna find them.
Creighton played great, and massive take here, but winning on the road is hard !! Especially to a ranked team.
People will tunnel vision this game and say UConn are frauds, etc etc, but this shouldn’t change anyone’s perspective about the team.
Creighton is a really really good team, never falling below 20 in the NET rankings.
@@YeIIowNBA I like UConn as well. I feel that a lot of teams when they are on a winning streak they sometimes get a little bit full of themselves and that's when they stumble and fall.... Creighton also played a stunning game
You see, the only way UConn was not going to repeat was if the opposing team 1)Went nuclear from 3 like Creighton did here and 2) UConn had a off-shooting night. It never happened. All season they never looked vulnerable. This is truly one of the greatest teams in college basketball history.

Every team has a weakness, it’s about fixing it, which Hurley is good at. These exact words were used last season, but yet they won the championship.

I wouldn't say "exposed". Creighton could go seasons and not shoot 50% from 3pt again. They shoot 36% as a team for the season. Not much any defense can do when that happens. Just ask Kansas (vs Tech).

UConn's 3 point defense is their worst point but to be fair Creighton had an incredibly lucky 3 point shooting night, they didn't even put up 50 six games ago when they played UConn. This game was absolutely incredible from the Jays.

It’s called playing quality teams on the road. UConn has only played 2 road games this year against ranked opponents and they are 0-2. UConn is legit this year but just like Purdue they are not head and shoulders above everyone else

@@ZYZZinVR hey what can I say UConn looks good. I will say the difference has been clingan. Will be interesting tonight since Purdue will not have double. That’s what made KU so successful against them. Dickinson and clingan battled it out and Kansas was able to switch 1-4.

After around 1/4 the game it looks like UCONN just gives up...
No, I think the effort was there all game although getting the lights shot out against you while your shots aren't falling in such a loud and hostile environment will do something to you. But, even though Creighton played one of their all-time best games and mounted a 23 point lead 2nd half lead, the Huskies were STILL able to get it down to 10 with about 4 minutes to go. Says a lot about their toughness. So, I don't think the Huskies gave up.

They managed to survive last season against everyone in their path when it counted most...and have done it more than anyone the past 25 seasons. Who else can you say that about,? NO one ..that's who.

@@PRballer25 As a matter of fact the Big East teams have won just as many NCAA championships the past 25 years as the ACC, being they both have won 8. And if you count the one UConn won when they were out of the Big East for a few years, the conerence would have 9 championships the past 25 years. The Jays last played in the NCAA Tournament in 2023, and have won at least one NCAA tournament game each of the last three seasons. And UConn is self explanatory? Lol

Creighton shot 50% from 3. Last time they met it was 23%. Big difference....a 25 pt swing. UConn was 19% from 3. Don't expect this to happen next time they meet. Tough to beat any top 20 team at home when they're shooting lights out. It was Creighton's game. 7-2 Clingan rode the bench a lot with fouls. There's nothing wrong with the Huskies defense. There's no answer for a team shooting 50% from 3.....which is the same as 75% from 2. No shame losing to #15 ranked at their home court. Huskies will bounce back. Flying out to Nebraska from Connecticut takes a toll. UConn didn't cave and still led the 1st quarter and got it down to 10-13 pts several times in the 2nd half. The next meeting should be fun. Last year UCONN was flying into late December undefeated ranking #2 after being unranked to start the season. In January to early Feb they lost 7 games and dropped down to #20 - earning only a #4 NCAA tourney seed.....then proceeded to beat up every one in their way to the title game. It's a little early to count them out.
Creighton got lucky
85-66 is not lucky it’s outplayed. Play like the #1 ranked team next time and it won’t happen.
