Am I the only one who is getting 35L answer to HW question? Approach: Given 40L mix is not in 9:7 ratio. it is the ration after 10L mix is taken out and replaced with water. Only then it become 9:7 ration. Initial ratio should be assume as 1:P ratio. Please correct me if I am wrong? @adda247

@vk-ll8kr see everyone the mixture was of 40 l of milk and water 10 l of the mixture was replaced by water then the ratio became 9:7 According the ratio Milk is 22.50 ltr Water is 17.50 ltr If 10 ltr of water was added mean the water was initially 7.50 ltr after removal Hence we got the initial ratio of milk and water i.e. 22.50 ltr milk and 7.50 ltr water after removal (3:1) If we divide the removed 10 ltr in the same ratio then the removed milk is 7.50 ltr and 2.5 ltr water hence initially the mixture was of Milk 30 ltr Water 10 ltr Now in the final mixture after replacement of x ltr of water the milk is 37.50% of its initial quantity Now we know the initial quantity of milk was 30ltr so 37.50% of 30 becomes 11.25 ltr It means the milk is 11.25 ltr in the final mixture Now the x ltr was removed in the ratio 9:7 But the milk was 22.50 ltr in the mixture and now it's 11.25 ltr so 11.25ltr was removed from 22.50 ltr of milk so if 9 equals 11.25 then 7 equals 8.75 ltr Combining both removed quantities 11.25 ltr + 8.75 ltr makes a sum of 20 litre in total HOPE IT HELPS IF ANY DOUBT STILL PERSIST FEEL FREE TO ASK!!
at 1:21:44 you dont have to do such a vast approach just think after removing 12 ltr still the ratio is same , then we add 7.5 ltr water,as 1 ltr=2/5 unit for 15/2 ltr it is simpli 3 so add direct 5:3+3=5:6

Remember ratio is always a fraction in its smallest possible form. Ratio does change with any change in one of the liquids in a mixture. Only the quantity of the liquid which was left unbothered remains the same as before.

Milk is 22.50 ltr
Water is 17.50 ltr

Combining both removed quantities 11.25 ltr + 8.75 ltr makes a sum of 20 litre in total
