He is the Elvis of France, sold more than 110M records WW. A real power house, could outposer anybody (maybe not Lara ?), here the mics were balanced to favor Lara as he wanted her to shine. • The song: this is an anthem song for him, that he used to sing alone. This was turned into a duet for Lara. The story of the song was created in reference to a very famous old french classic movie: Le Jour se Leve (1939) where the main character is barricaded and surrounded by the police ( and the dogs 😀), having killed his girlfriend. Here this is turned into a kind of Bonnie and Clyde’s challenge to the policemen • The venue/event: Johnny’s concert in Stade de France ( biggest stadium in Paris and France) in front of 80,000. Lara was the surprise special guest. They did perform this 3 times in a row. That night, the scene was outside and it was raining, which just added some dramatic effect to the whole performance. • Lara: she was at the beginning of her career in France and this performance became legendary in french-speaking world and accelerated her fame there.

Great reaction, guys! I guess now you know why I like to suggest this song after reactors listened to Je suis malade and/or Caruso and/or Adagio. This is the powerful rock style side of Lara and as you said she is still conveying all the emotions as she does in her ballads. It's this that makes me see similarities to Floor and love both beautiful ladies.

So dramatic and passionate. Johnny was a very big movie star in France too and tried to make it in Hollywood but that didn’t work in his favor. Johnny was so famous in France that upon his death they made it a national day of mourning for his funeral.
Johnny Halliday was a music star but he was by no means a movie star. And he never tried to do movies in Hollywood even if he lived at Pacific Palisades. There are only two films where his acting performances were recognized critically : L'homme du train (Patrice Leconte) and Jean-Philippe (Laurent Tuel). All the other films where he had the main roles were "nanards" (low-tier movies).

This song was a part of a 2 hour long concert in a pouring rain where Johnny absolutely slayed at age 55! I've been a Lara Fan since 1994, and that night I became a Johnny Fan for life. Lara is just a powerhouse. Her power, technique, dynamics are something else. Johnny had a powerful voice and a huge presence but even in their other duets i think she shined a bit more. Johnny never held back on stage, whether he was performing with another singer or not. She’s one of the very few perfomers, if not the only one, who could really shine next to Johnny.

Ok I will try to give the full context:
• Johnny : the most admired singer in France from early 60s to 2017 when he died. He is the Elvis of France, sold more than 110M records WW. A real power house, could outposer anybody (maybe not Lara ?), here the mics were balanced to favor Lara as he wanted her to shine.
• The song: this is an anthem song for him, that he used to sing alone. This was turned into a duet for Lara. The story of the song was created in reference to a very famous old french classic movie: Le Jour se Leve (1939) where the main character is barricaded and surrounded by the police ( and the dogs 😀), having killed his girlfriend. Here this is turned into a kind of Bonnie and Clyde’s challenge to the policemen
• The venue/event: Johnny’s concert in Stade de France ( biggest stadium in Paris and France) in front of 80,000. Lara was the surprise special guest. They did perform this 3 times in a row. That night, the scene was outside and it was raining, which just added some dramatic effect to the whole performance.
• Lara: she was at the beginning of her career in France and this performance became legendary in french-speaking world and accelerated her fame there.

So dramatic and passionate. Johnny was a very big movie star in France too and tried to make it in Hollywood but that didn’t work in his favor. Johnny was so famous in France that upon his death they made it a national day of mourning for his funeral.
Johnny Halliday was a music star but he was by no means a movie star. And he never tried to do movies in Hollywood even if he lived at Pacific Palisades. There are only two films where his acting performances were recognized critically : L'homme du train (Patrice Leconte) and Jean-Philippe (Laurent Tuel). All the other films where he had the main roles were "nanards" (low-tier movies).

This song was a part of a 2 hour long concert in a pouring rain where Johnny absolutely slayed at age 55! I've been a Lara Fan since 1994, and that night I became a Johnny Fan for life. Lara is just a powerhouse. Her power, technique, dynamics are something else. Johnny had a powerful voice and a huge presence but even in their other duets i think she shined a bit more.
