Really ???? I asked Apple, and they said they could not guarantee that it was coming this year or anytime soon so I got this one because I needed it ASAP
Well a new one is rumoured for the first half of next year. Idm that you picked the 10th gen though because it's still a great iPad in 2024 - I was just merely saying that a new one is rumoured for a few months' time.
To piggy back on the initial point, there will most likely be an iPad 11 coming in the first part of 2025 in order to streamline all of the iPads to have Apple Intelligence.
Never a good idea to ask that question of someone trying to sell something. The 10th Gen has had price cuts to reflect the fact it’s been around a while, but it is a 2022 iPad using a 2020 phone chipset. The base iPad doesn’t usually go more than a year without an update, so this one has been an exceptionally long wait. A refresh was widely expected in October, as they were required under EU law to remove the charging blocks (really the requirement was to offer without, meaning they could have included a charger in the price had the customer selected this when ordering but of course they make more money by removing it for everyone and keeping the price the same, then anyone who is new to iPad and doesn’t have a charger has to pay for it.) Instead Apple updated the packaging to remove the charger without updating the iPad, so they would be allowed to sell it for longer rather than having to get the 11th Gen out to a deadline. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it in March alongside the iPhone SE 4 (as they had to pull the SE3 from sale in the European market as the deadline for USB-C removal and chargers not being included as standard was December 28.) March was when the Air 5 came out so there is form for product releases then. Unless you love the colour, which will probably change with the 11th Gen, you could always use Apple’s extended Christmas returns period to return it and buy either an Apple Certified Refurbished Air 5 which has an M1 chip (from the iPad Pro line), double the RAM of the 10th Gen and a laminated screen or wait for the 11th. Macrumours is a good site for news on probable releases.

I have this same iPad and it’s amazing quality! It will last a good while :)
