Today is my last day here in Istanbul. It has been an amazing vacation and I learned a lot about the history of Türkiye. Istanbul is a huge city and it is a mix of ancient and modern. Some buildings are over a thousand years old, some are a few years old.
Tomorrow is my flight back home. The places I visited are as follows.
Number 1, Basilica Cistern. An ancient underground tank that provided the water supply for the city.
Number 2, The Blue Mosque. It was built to get on God's good side.
Number 3, German Fountain. A gift from the German Empire to the Ottoman Empire in 1900.
Number 4, Hagia Sofia. Before it became a mosque in 1453, it was the largest Christian cathedral for a thousand years.
Number 5, Topkapı Palace Museum. The former royal residence before the Dolmabahçe Palace was built.
Tomorrow, I will be flying back home. Enjoy the video.
