I think we were piss poor . It seems the philosophy in the second half was too defend a one goal lead . Why? We have players now who can score goals. Fair play for a good defensive performance. I used too defend Pickford but Neville Southall could have saved that now at his age and weight.

To be faaair, about 5 Everton players covered his view of that shot but not a single one of them managed to block it. And, should he really have been able to pull the trigger on that shot to begin with? I say no, and my computer does as well.

@@74september I have only seen it from the one angle, and I have defended Pickford a lot, but that's poor. The only mitigation I can give him there is the heavy rain. It wasn't that hard a shot, and aside from the Leicester player dummying it, the players in the way weren't that close in. He's hesitated to make a decision, possibly because of the possibility of a deflection, and then not made a simple save. He even gets a good hand to it, but because of his footing, can't get any angle or power behind it.

There were three defenders in front of Tielemans and No. 7 did a massive mistake - he was guarding Tielemans and left him with no reason, not to mention let a ball to pass between his legs.

@@alicaramba7680 ffs, how can you defend that?? The shot is not into a corner and it is hardly even hit with much power. It is a woeful mistake. Not to mention flapping and being nowhere near the cross coming into the box right before the shot.

I agree. The philosophy seemed too be defend the one goal lead. Cant do that for 45 minutes. No need too . We now have a team capable of scoring goals.
@@johnketteringham996 Good to notice that in this match the midfield lacked the new trio. Without Alan and Doucouré the team had to defend only with the back players. I think that Everton needs a new midfielder with the same level of Alan o Doucouré, that can give a rest or supersede the last two.
It´s more necessary if Everton goes to a European competition.
