@oogway214 I placed a mike near the PA system and unfortunately a cougher sat nearby. Not much I could do about that, although I did cut out a particularly loud batch.
Hi I have listen to your blogs on the nikon d800. I just started to the nikon D700 and that you can give some instruction in detail on the d 700 as to how setup and use it. Thank you.
That D800 vs D800E snow shot they used is quite questionable at best. Rather than more detail it literally looks like they slightly increased the contrast and sharpness in PS on the D800E shot. In actual detail you would expect there to be a tiny bit of subject matter change in any shot... It literally looks like both images are taken from the same shot though. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would love to start seeing more direct comparisons.
To summaries : Both for Proffisionals. D4 for sports & wild life photography ( need great ISO performance). D800 for studio, Wedding and landscapes ( needs more detailes). So, I think I will keep my d700 for now and wait for the next one having both features.
@MrMAKFoto It's probably one of the most exciting cameras that I have seen for a long time. I think it will be good competition for the Canon 5D mk II, although I do feel Nikon have left this too late.
The phrase amused me too. Generally we have to shoot with what ever lighting is available. As long as the information comes across OK then it will pass for the time being
If you truly want that cristal clear detailed quality carry a tripod with you and use the live view to focus otherwise it will become kind of blurry because of the 36 megapixels.
Amazing camera. If only it did 6+ fps it would be unbeatable in every category. Grab a D4 to pair with this and you have everything you will ever need!
Why can't Nikon put Thunderbolt technology in the Nikon. Usb3 is half the transfer rate of thunderbolt. The technologies out there why don't Nikon use it.
I was really scared of the D800 after seeing one in a shop that wasn't working correctly to the point every picture taken was over exposed and the camera tech couldn't explain why or fix it in the menu and said it would have to go back to Nikon. After a couple of weeks. the full frame, 36 mill pixel (be like using my F100 again LOL) with my old lens got the better of me and I had to have one. time upgrade my D300s.love it up to date and have no regrets what so ever just love the quality it is producing to me it feels like shooting with film again but just so much better
great share You can get this camera with lens kit on sale now on www.photolg.com/nikongear for anyone looking for this model. The d800 paired with a prime lens make excellent videos.
Why wasn't the MD drive attachment made to contour the lines of the camera? It spoils the aesthetics of the camera and clearly looks like an attachment! With regards to Auto focus why so complicated, we are forever having to keep resetting this on a Nikon D5100, we hope that it is not the same on the D800. Keep it simple used to be a marketing slogan, why not apply it to cameras, give me the working of a manual film camera over all these menu cameras any day.
I'm very disappointed in the so-called sensor cleaner on my D800. It doesn't seem to work at all! I have a ton of dust and particles on my sensor. Particles show up when stopped down or shooting lighter subjects. Are you listening Nikon?
There is no echo on the audio, there must have been a fault on the internet connection. Try again. It was a live press launch so probably not the best audio going, but all the information is clear enough.
29min 59seconds record time in camera, clean hdmi out to a separate recording drive is limited only by battery power. It's my understanding that at 30 min record time it's considered a video camera proper in Europe and taxed at a higher rate. If this is true I wish USA versions had no such limitation. Weaker battery than D3, slack jaw liberals in Japan regulating batteries.
Why is it men and not woman who shoot digital moan about weight of modern cameras? Why is it you never hear of anyone shooting in a studio using an RB67 moaning about the weight of the camera? So why is now men moan about a professional portrait and landscape camera that's going to be fixed the a tripod being to heavy?
I owned this camera for one year now, and Im still impressed with it and with the image quality. Really love my D 800!
The D800 is a superb camera which should satisfy most needs. The D4 is also a great camera, but with a price tag that reflects its build quality.
@oogway214 I placed a mike near the PA system and unfortunately a cougher sat nearby. Not much I could do about that, although I did cut out a particularly loud batch.
@adiomari thanks for the clarification.
@marsmitsu No, he said D3X, the camera this one is replacing.
I am very interested to see the ISO performance!
GREAT CAMERA! The BEST camera today!
You probably didn't know the details when I first published this video. Of course now you do know.

It was a live event recording
How soft will the rabbit pictures will be, if I take it with this camera? Is it like fluffy soft or like melted butter soft?
nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! count me in. Time for an upgrade of my D300, and time to release the full potential of my 14-24 2.8 Nikkor monster

@vincentoliver you mean Canon 5D mark III... even that D800 win!
The phrase amused me too. Generally we have to shoot with what ever lighting is available. As long as the information comes across OK then it will pass for the time being
Would love to see what the shadow noise is like :P
I know :-) I am used to it by now.
How long dose it shoot video for?
I'm still struggling with the D800, but I'm enjoying the challenge!

Can I take rabbit pictures with this camera?
Amazing camera. If only it did 6+ fps it would be unbeatable in every category. Grab a D4 to pair with this and you have everything you will ever need!
The dude coughing in the god Damn back!!!!
JESUS!!!!
I WANT IT NOW!!
@0:41 did he say d3s? surpasses d3s at 6400ISO? really?
@Superfoot With 4fps this is not a sports camera any way.
Yes, it does good job with rabbits and hamsters too, but a rabbits can be a bit soft.

@CBSNEWS69 You're the first person I've heard speak the truth about the frames per second.

Usability
But does it track focus with unlimited number of shots? I shoot sports. Track focus is important. All this other stuff is waste.

my d700 is less noise than my d800 in high iso. The information here is very wrong
ua-cam.com/video/SPyYm38AC7Y/v-deo.html
omg that guy who keeps coughing in the background was freaking annoying!!
Why the hell someone would go to a talk with a cough knowing your going to spoil the talk is selfish.
Patient Zero for COVID 19 .....
"previously in the past" duh...
The price of the D800E is higher because they produce less units.
tell something we don't already know..
great back ground sound!! a guy with Tuberculosis! lol!
Spiegelei
I'm just givin' you a hard time...
Sorry dude.. your accent on top of the echo on the audio was too much..you lost me. Fix the echo and i'll try you again.

Hearing clear here, check your ears.

Google
LOL!!!
D800 plus a bolt on 24-70 = a lot of weight. Carry a 80 - 200 in your rucksack too. No fun carrying this weighty set up around.
+Dave Jones Yes, it is a heavyweight camera, but build quality and materials used is important for professional photographers.
+Dave Jones , you should go for sony mirror less camera instants...sony special design for gal...I hope you will like it...

rape victim lighting . hahahaha. it was rather budget, wasnt it?
