You could fit a rectangular low profile woofer in the front of the pass through. Seen that done before. www.vweosclub.com/threads/project-sub.5723/#lg=thread-5723&slide=1
Ran the cable right up the center of the car, tucked under the center console. Mounted the control right below the radio, above the ashtray, positioned it so it does not interfere with opening/closing of the ashtray
Hi 2Phast. What are your impressions of the sub now that you’ve had it for a while. Im thinking I might get this for my Eos but wanted your opinion. Also did you solve the box in a box issue you mentioned in your other comment? Keep up your good work on the channel and Eos forum!
This is by far, much superior to the Blaupunkt I had previously. Here are my updates. Having this bolted to the battery cover brackets did not work out, this transmitted a lot of vibrations into the bulk head, which created rattles, squeaks and vibrations. So I have unbolted the sub and I also installed a one inch piece of foam so the sub does not get pushed up against the ski bag opening, this also was causing vibrations when the sub was in direct contact. The ideal fix for the box in a box issue would be to mount the sub further away from the opening, possibly firing the sub towards the rear of the vehicle, but that really isn't possible, but backing the sub away from the opening a bit did help in that area. I have also rigged up a harness that slips under the front of the sub and attaches to the bulk head, this harness allows me to remove the blue box and spare tire cover, while keeping the sub in place. I think this is the best value for a sub woofer solution in a EOS, plenty of bass, easy installation and minimal trunk space lost.
Well, I am not sure how I can demo something as subjective as a subwoofer in a video. I can say though that this is far superior to the Blaupunkt that I previously had. Also need to work through the "box in a box" issue I have run into. Due to the size of the trunk and how this sub is designed, the trunk is getting pressurized quickly, thus, if I open the trunk, even a small amount, the bass inside the cabin increases dynamically.
I want to do a similar set up with a 6.5 or 8 but on the tiny collapsible seat cushion thats on the opposite side that covers the little door

Love the install 2phast. Well done. Where did you mount the remote inside the car?

@@2phast oh thanks for the update. That sounds like a good solution. I think I’ll try and find one of those subs in the uk for my Eos.
You going to do a sound test on that bad boy?
