The pure pain in the screams speaks so many volumes to me. This guy was in some pain mentally/spiritually when he wrote this. And damn did he do a great job channeling that into this song. Hats off to this band. Just found out about them yesterday and I'm hooked. Great song man.
Watching the recentish Doco on them, shit, Pittsburgh takes on a whole new meaning, I never knew what it was about, Joel Birch falling off the stairs of the tour bus because he had stopped drinking for a couple hours and went into a violent seizure, shit he was lucky it was at a music festival with EMT nearby.
A lot of ~normal~ (emotionally ok//stable without any sort of trauma) people won’t get the hit of emotion or hear it in most of their songs unless they’ve been there before or have felt the effects of what it does to people

And IMO Joel and Ahren sound so amazing together. They work very well. I'm a fan of Escape the Fate for a long time too. But Amity is my favorite band at the moment .

5 years ago someone very close to me tried to take their life.. when I left the hospital this song just magically came on shuffle, I drove off the road and absolutely lost my shit. I want to dedicate this song to my husband and i's best friend, Shawn Gouker. The Amity Affliction was his favorite band. It was all of our favorite band and we would listen to them in the car all the time. Shawn passed away from an overdose this morning. We love you shawn.
I know this is hella late but I'm sorry for your loss. I actually lost someone important to me too around the time this song came out and I can never listen to this song without thinking about him. Its taken me some time to be able to listen to this song again but I just know that he and your husband are at peace now❤

+acceptanci Matt, I'm not a fan of parkway drive at all, Amity may be depressing at times, but the beautiful lyrics help people get through the tough times. And IMO Joel and Ahren sound so amazing together. They work very well. I'm a fan of Escape the Fate for a long time too. But Amity is my favorite band at the moment .

5 years ago someone very close to me tried to take their life.. when I left the hospital this song just magically came on shuffle, I drove off the road and absolutely lost my shit. Tears, screams, punches, I couldn’t get it. It was the hardest time of my 27 years. Doesnt matter the time of day, I still get watery eyes to this song. I skip it most times. You guys killed this.
