Really good looking bike , much better than the other bigger XSR's ( 700/900 ) which to my eyes are a fussy mess of a design. Enjoy your time with it Rob👍
What a great looking bike, we'll enjoy watching you having fun on this new beast
Very cool bike Rob. I love the looks. I think it's a good idea. Much easier to maintain, easy to start, great mileage, and still fits within the spirit of your videos. Good job. I'm jealous!
Thank you Tim - I do believe it sits with the spirit of my videos, to quote you, too albeit the bike is not quite so interesting? But in the end I want to ride, not wait for repairs. And you may be able to hear me better!
Nice bike Rob. Look forward to some future rides. Loved the Scotland trip but the run out with your mates, enjoying the local area with your small bikes are a must watch for me. Actually, that Yam looks bigger than a 125, ride safe mow!
The runs with mates has reached the end of season at the moment but looking forward to March. It is bigger than most 125s but very light until I get on it !!
I saw this video after I was deciding on what bike to get as I’ve just done my CBT, I’ve seen you’re other videos too and I must admit it’s great to see people of a certain age enjoying these smaller bikes, hopefully I will enjoy as much as you have, thanks for the videos they are really interesting and enjoyable and often funny 👍 my xsr 125 arrives next week😊
Hi - glad you have enjoyed some of my videos - iy been a lot of fun making them! Likewise you will enjoy the XSR - lovely, lively little bike although if you are in the northern hemisphere the weather may impede you for a few months but, enjoy !
Sensible choice Rob. Looks fantastic, I'm off to look at some reviews of them now😂. You have some great memories with the YB 👍
Life is all about memories and, yes, the YB has been a wonderful "friend" !
Well done Rod great little bike Scotland would be a doddle on this one 👍🇬🇧
I really like theses bikes, looking forward to the adventures you get up to, will miss the YB.
This new bike looks very nice, Rob and I can understand why you decided to get it, rather than continue to wait for the YB to be rebuilt. In terms of power/weight ratios, the XSR is almost identical to the Meteor.
Yeah - odd that? When the YB comes back it will be sold, sadly - on the orders of "she who must be obeyed"
Ah, yes; Hilda... I used to have one of those. One does commiserate, Horace.
Sorry to hear about the trusty YB, though it seems time goes on and what a handsome “upgrade” 👍👌👏
Yes indeed, it was time for a change but selling the YB will be emotional.
I’m very tempted by this bike, looks very nice and I’ve only heard good things about it.
A modern yb for sure. Congratulations 🎉
@@RobLittleuk As Oscar Wilde once said- ‘ l can resist anything except temptation’ 😂
@@goldilocks913 In that case I shall be glad to hear what you think of yours when you get it !!!
I have a 2009 Yamaha ybr 125 and love doing longish days out on it. usually by myself because none of my mates have such little bikes. Good luck on your new machine Rob.
on the Shropshire Wales border near a town called Oswestry@@RobLittleuk
@@jeremythomas6980 Hmmm....Tetbury, Gloucestershire - know your area but its a biut far for a day out on a 125 !!
After seeing and been out for a ride with you Rob, I think the bike suits you.
It must be so nice with no kick start or bump starting, you’re going to miss that exercise routine 😂.
Great looking wee bike Rob, and if its half as good as the little Yamaha 125 twin that i had in 1970, it will be brilliant to ride on.
I've still got the BMW R1200RS sport SE but I think I will be selling it, as my hips are now starting to give out on me.
So enjoy your new Yammy and have good fun on it.
All the Best.
Nice looking bike and love this colour scheme. Looking at a legacy edition later today.
@@RobLittleuk Delivered yesterday, it's the best looking 125 I've ever seen, high tech spec as well. Saw this colour in the shop too and it really is a good colour combo. Loving the JPS legacy colours though. Got to redo my CBT now as been riding a 50 monkeybike last few years.
Rob, I'm thinking of part exing my 2020 Monkey in for one of these. I have a GS and a Bonnie but really love the look of this Yamaha. I think it may suit me better than the Monkey to go around these snotty lanes in Wales. What do you reckon?
Its a great little bike - more capable but maybe a little less comfy than the monkey. And yer legs are tuck up a bit but its a great bike.
Im getting this exact one next week 😁
NO Luke. This one is MINE !! You may be getting a similar one but NOT this EXACT one !! Good luck you'll love it !
Hi Rob,
Sounds really nice on your recording, plus even better mpg than the YB?
My interest in your channel rather than fat man on small bike is someone traveling significant distance on a small capacity machine, with get up and go, no barriers to adventure.
Will you keep the YB?
I had an RD125LC mk2 which was brilliant.
The issue around keeping the YB rests with "the present Mrs Little" - I want to do more small capacity rides without doing a round the world trip !!
nice looking bike Rob .if my left foot could still change gear that would be a good choice , am now on scooters . a 125 forza special edition full 15 bhp .and i already had an sh 125 i . look forward to seeing your reports .
Such a shame about the YB but understandable all the same. I sent my CZ175 off to a mechanic friend of a friend in Augst, he's doing the old "next month", "just one more month" etc bit and I'm paying him! All it turned out if needed is a hone, new rings and brush holder.
These golden rims are available only in Blue color.
To answer some of your question.. Why do they make it with 9 hp? .. The two main reasons are it's because it is basically the cub engine, which is designed to be very very economical and passively air cooled. I have a grumble to make.. My own 125 almost new scooter stopped working yesterday. Something with the fueling or the spark. I was at the shop, came out with groceries and the scooter won't start .. On 4400 km.. I can hear the fuel pump is pumping but no spark.. I will thinker with it tomorrow. Question for you.. The seat.. Looks hard as you said but at least wide and with good shape from what I can see. But how do you feel it? I know you are sensitive to seats.
And to say.. Congrats about the new bike.. Sorry for the long comment.
Sorry about your scooter Stefan - hope you sort it out soon. Initially the seat felt hard but is definitely not as hard as the YB - firm but comfortable !
As I said in your Facebook, it’s a bike I’ve had my eye on if I downsize.
Wondered though about luggage, couldn’t see any any obvious fittings for a top box
Well it has no room for anything at the moment - this is my best challenge!
@@RobLittleukEven more minimal luggage than on other long trips!
@@derbyshireruralrider9398 Working on it.....there is a back plate that fits but that will not be enough !
A good move, only so many years left 😊
Absolutely right - sadly we all start counting backwards at a certain age.
@@Buckwheet Biddestone in Wiltshire - east of Bath. Ironically its the ancestoral home of my branch of the "Little" family - or at least one of them. Most Littles in the world hail from the Scottish borders but not us.....!
I haven’t been there in a long while, I thought I recognised it but was looking in the wrong place
Nice bike, all the power you need. If I were a commuter, this is exactly the sort of machine I'd choose. Shame you can't hold on to the YB but I guess she would just gather dust and then what's the point, hope she goes to an enthusiast who will treat her well and look after her.
Great looking Yamaha Rob - but sad you have given up on the YB. Not sure if you've already disposed of the YB but as a fellow YB owner (a '92 model) if you still have her and are interested in selling your rear luggage rack I'd be happy to take it off your hands at the right price ! Yes, I am serious as you just can't get the damn things these days.
Mike I'm sorry but I don't want to start taking things off the bike - and there has been a bit of welding needed on that rack
No problem Rob I fully understand. Thanks for taking the time to reply and I look forward to more of your wonderful videos - such a refreshing change from all the other rubbish on YT from wanna be celebrities. Do let us know what happens to the little YB as she deserves to live a little longer !@@RobLittleuk
@@Mike-zz8io There will be an emotional video, I'm sure Mike and thanks for your kind words - I do my best to be me !
That's a shame about the little YB! F.J.Payne in Oxford would have re-bored that cylinder for you. I had similar problems but managed to buy a new pattern cylinder and piston from overseas for about £100 as there are none available in Europe.
Well unfortunately its now after the event - the guy who is doing the rebore now says he is "very busy" 🤬
Good luck with the Yamaha and the diet, dieting at our age ain't easy. Take care.
Yes I definitely like the bike I bought a Monkey bike last January and would agree with you about the power and it will probably be the reason why I part with it it’s just not enough my other bike is an NT 1100 Honda so I might swap the Little Honda eventually for a slightly more powerful 125 in the future I really like your new motorcycle it’s got classy lines , good luck with the diet 😊
Wow you covered a lot including the diet !! I am trying but its hard.
@@RobLittleuk I really enjoy watching your content Rob keep up the good work mate
P.S having googled XSR 125 they are also
Made in the Yamaha Factory in France..🇫🇷
Hence the Banco Yamaha Team Racing
Colours Blue & Yellow
Mon Dieu , don't forget to hang some
Onions on the Handle bars ..😀
Well why have big bikes when you can have one of these, just as good for turning and get 130 mpg what’s not to like, I have the legacy and love it. About to fit a windshield and other bits to make 🎉it into what I want tank case, gps bracket as don’t like it on bars, custom set, etc
I am thinking of taking mine to the Alps next year - looking at the Puig screen not sure what else although I have panniers and a tank bag - all the luggage i need. I use WAZE or Beeline so don't need a GPS. Thanks for your comment.
i bet it will do well over 100mpg
Supposed to do about 140mpg - I am managing about 125 at the moment but.......remember I am riding "two up" !! 😆
Look funny on a monkey bike 😂😂 I'm your build I ride a Benelli tnt 125.
Yip I look stupid but who gives a Sh-t. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@RobLittleuk
I agree the Benelli tnt 125 is not for touring.
I take my hat off to you fella for travelling long distances, always enjoy the videos, wish the sound was a bit better while riding but never mind.
Still enjoying them all the same.
@@Paul-pb3vqPaul the noise is not so intrusive with this bike and I also have a new system that should work better. Appreciate your support.
Beautiful looking bike. I can see why you fell in love with it. Hope you grow to love it more each time you ride it.👍
Its a fantastic little bike !
