  • Whether they genuinely mean it or not, I don’t know how to respond when people say, “Thank you for your service,” Sometimes I want to cry, other times I want to shout in their face-you have no idea what I have gone through!     It's the ignorance for me, lots of people say it as a faux statement. As to show "support" when in reality they don't really care. You're service is not part of their reality.
    Classic quote from black hawk down, "they ask me, "hey hoot, why do you do it man?" You know what I say? Not a god damn thing. Because they don't understand, they'll never understand..."
    Also didn't see any actual answer to this question other than go seek coucil.. wack.
