    Wondering how this is any better than Fat Tad CXS? I love mine, gave it a mid drive/CVT/belt upgrade, and rock n roll!
    This thing climbs the bowls at the skate park and gets air on the BMX track...can't say enough about not letting dumb stuff like missing part of your spinal cord hold you up.

      Sweet! I haven't ridden cxs before, I'll check it out. This ICE Full Fat is equipped with a bunch of deluxe feature like the Rohloff and Shimano EP8.

      @@LaidBackCycles it's just cheap, that's all - I got mine for 1800 USD new on sale. Everything is being changed or modded so I'm glad I didn't spend more (I have a Cattrike EXP R and a no name two wheel bent as well). The front suspension travel is better than nothing but it needs to be improved as it tends to limit out at the worst times lol
      If I was going to offer something as top shelf as the Rohloff, I'd just go straight to Pinon, TQ, or Fazua for a powerplant. Pinion is the game changer because their MGU is fully integrated mid drive/gearbox. Now everyone else is going to have to try to do it or explain why their way is better. Enviolo already released a variant of their Extreme gearbox for cargo bikes that is frame mount last year; the times are changing quickly.

    Something not mentioned in this video. The Full Fat is rated for riders up to 275 lbs. The HD is rated up to 330 lbs. If you're a heavier guy and thinking about the FF, keep that in mind.

    Love mine. I've had it for 8 yrs and it's absolutely perfect for riding in the Rockies or any trail. I got it with a Rohloff, had a Schlumpf Mtn Drive put on, and now the gearing is exactly what I need. Great for going too fast down gravel roads, and I can climb almost any hill (assuming my legs last...). It gets me way out from everything, I can stop in the middle of a hill without dismounting if I need to rest, and I can go for hours without getting saddle sore. Worth every penny. I used to transport it folded in my older model Escape, where it fit perfectly in back, but now I use a modified HitchRider rack. It does attract a certain amount of attention, and just freaks out horses...

      I love to hear it! I definitely know the fun you can have even after just one ride.

    Need a new term for this: e-MTT (mountain trike).

    Cool trike! I avoid rocks on the pavement with my road tires.

    I have a FULL FAT with the Shimano assist. How much would it cost to swap out the for more road like tires? It does NOT have a Rohloff.

      They are around 70-100 bucks each for a road fat tire.

    What is the comparable gearing of the Rohloff? I have a SHIMANO CS-HG400-9, 9 SPEED 11-36: 11-13-15-17-20-23-26-30-36T

    Very Nice! I put the Schwalbe knobby tires on my ICE Adventure HD and rode it off road a whole bunch and it worked great!

    I’m 6’6” 230lbs any chance the geometry will accommodate very broad shoulders and very long legs?

    • @LaidBackCycles
      @LaidBackCycles  3 місяці тому +1

      I'm not sure the Full Fat would fit, but the GreenSpeed Magnum XL would be a great option - could always add knobby tires if you want to take it off the trail.

    Thanks, this is very useful information, However, can you design it for Paraplegics that have to use hand cycles ? 😊

      They have done it before. I think its a custom build. I'd have to ask if they would do another one or not. www.icetrikes.co/19-news-and-blog/310-ice-trike-news-karen-darke-mount-kilimanjaro-handcycle-on-ice-full-fat

    How about beach sand? My terratrike all terrain can also make it though what you went though, but not sand.

    • @LaidBackCycles
      @LaidBackCycles  3 місяці тому +1

      I haven't tested it there, but ICE has photos of it on beach sand. I assume yes!

    My only question is, how much?

    • @LaidBackCycles
      @LaidBackCycles  3 місяці тому

      It's a pretty penny for a premium trike from ICE, but worth it. If you want the best off road trike, this is the best I've ridden. The Full Fat starts at $5900 and goes up from there depending on the specs you want to add on. This one is maxed out with the Shimano EP8 motor and Rohloff hub.

    • @TheWelshman50

      Same trike with Rohloff but fitted a To Severn 500w motor 😊 swapped out jumbo Jim's to Vee Speedsters 26x 3.5 as I ride mostly on trails ,so quiet and gained a few mph.
      Ice should have made front mudguards (fenders ) other than that it's almost perfect 👌 👍

      gee price? that takes awhile as you have to be persistent in searching thru their site pages -
      probably still wrong as there are a few options from 4.5K up to 12k range
      to call might be your best bet to find out.
      also ask "if" there are places you can go test ride them.
      good luck
      Im far North Idaho so it might be awhile before they have dealerships in my area.

      @@bellyacres7846there is a dealer in Post Falls (I think). He works out of his home but he is an ICE dealer and I did a test ride in 2019.
