Instead of shaking it; you can: 1) open it up on the back greater than half way 2) flip the puzzle over to the hyrule crest side 3) turn it vertical and slide apart. The key is not to open it up in step 1 all the way.
Havent found a single tutorial on solvng this yet that works . Round the corner ? What are you holding in your left hand when going round the corner the view is blocked by your hand as you can tell im a little frustrated i have lots of these but not the similar cube one what position are you holding in your left hand ? (Im reasembling btw sorry, forget to mention that )
I'm having an odd issue with this puzzle. I can take it apart and i can put it back together, but once i out it back together, it doesn't stay together. If i shake the puzzle enough now, it will just come apart by itself. Is there a way to ensure the mechanism locks back properly?
actually, yes. a bit of a late response but I just recently received this puzzle as a gift. in order to lock it back into it's original place, you have to basically do the steps he shows for unlocking it, but backwards. you'll see why if you have the pieces apart. on the back halves of one of the sides, the pin holes are divided by a small section of metal which means there's two positions those pins can be in and you want the pins to fall into the furthest-in pin holes (when it's at it's most closed) which will lock it back into it's original place. mine is back into a locked position and none of the pieces have any sort of give when i'm shaking it unless i begin to try and solve it.
Took me only a few to get this apart without help. Took me much longer to get the master sword apart. But getting this together is where I'm stuck as I lost track of the pieces and orientation.

Very nice puzzle to solve.
