A humorous presentation that informs you about preventing lice. SING-ALONG!
    LYRICS -- LICE!
Lice are not so nice when they get into your hair!
Lice are not so nice when they get in anywhere!
    Not on your sheets
    Nor in your bed!
    Nor on your couch
    Nor in your head!
Lice are not so nice when in your hair!
    Or anywhere!
So, we went down to the pharmacy
    And lice shampoo we bought!
    Dying lice within our scalps
    Is such a creepy thought!
We spent the evening combing lice eggs
    Out of my long hair!
This is not how I would plan a gala, grand affair!
It’s not my idea of a very good time
Combing lice eggs out of your hair
Or combing them out of mine!
My twin brother shaved his head
‘Cause we shared the lice, you see!
But I refused to cut my curls!
No bald from lice for me!
A war was waged against the lice!
    But it is done!
    And we have won!
And, hopefully, there’ll be no lice for me!
    Nor not for me!
I hope that we will never get lice in our hair again!
    Not when we’re six!
    Or when we’re nine!
    Or even when we’re ten!
Now, learn from our experience so you will be so wise!
It’s best for you to listen up and take our lice advice!
There’s certain things that you should do to make
    sure lice don’t visit you!
Don’t use a comb that you don’t own!
Don’t put your ear on someone’s phone!
Don’t use a pin that’s not your own!
Don’t use a brush when in a rush!
'Cause lice are not so nice when in your hair!
    . . . or anywhere!
So, now you know how kids pass lice!
    So, take our advice!
Don’t get a case of nasty lice!
‘Cause lice are not so nice!

When there is a lice infestation, it is recommended to wash bedding, clothing, and other items that may have come into contact with the infested person. While lice are not typically found on bed sheets or furniture, there are a few reasons why thorough cleaning is advised:
Nits (lice eggs) can be present on bedding or clothing: Lice eggs are attached to the hair shafts close to the scalp. However, some nits may have already fallen off the hair and onto bedding or clothing. Washing these items helps remove any nits that might be present.
Preventing reinfestation: Lice can survive for a short period away from the scalp, so it's possible for lice or nits to be on items like pillows, hats, or clothing. By washing these items, you can help eliminate any remaining lice or nits, reducing the risk of reinfestation.
Peace of mind: Cleaning items associated with the infested person provides reassurance that you have taken thorough measures to eradicate the lice. It is a proactive step to help ensure that any lice or nits are removed from the environment.
While washing bedding and clothing is recommended, it's important to note that lice do not survive long away from the scalp. They rely on human blood for survival and quickly die without a host. If washing is not feasible, you can also place items in a sealed plastic bag for a few days to suffocate any potential lice or nits.
Additionally, it's crucial to treat the infested person's hair with an appropriate lice treatment as directed by a healthcare professional. This is the primary focus for eliminating lice, as they primarily reside on the scalp and hair.
