Not only in that singular attempt did I get a sunburnt Sun pokemon, but I’ve gotten a shiny dratini on the first check of the entire hunt for it when my cousin, doing his first ever shiny hunt spent hours trying to find it.

I encountered a shiny Lunala randomly on my third DA for it. It was crazy. Wasn't even going for it seriously, as at the time I was watching the 24 Hoenn event. It's name is No Sleep now :)
It is crazy how lucky this man is, the fact that the worst thing was a 250 DA hunt for blacephalon is wild. I've seen people go as high as 400 (including myself, got my pheromosa on the 400th exactly) Edit: I recently got my own blacephalon after 749 DAs, still 75k encounters into a regirock hunt though. I don't know why I shiny hunt when I'm this unlucky.
I was ignorant about everything shiny hunting when I played Sword and caught Solgaleo, so guess I have to start another playthrough just to hunt the Sword exclusives... can't wait 😅
Bro I feel you on the Railou didn’t SR over it, but I got it in 4106 SR with the charm in USUM. I also SR over shiny Latios there TWICE one at 8SR the other at 503SR got it at 1524SR
@EternalRadiant followup, with online shut down for ultra sun and moon, is it still possible to get the version exclusives to finish the aloha pokedex?
I ended up getting necrozma in around 20 DAs and solgaleo in about 37. I ended up not hunting for lunala for a while later until a blood moon, in of which i got it within 15 DAs i believe, while the blood moon was still going on XD love shiny lunala
I must have the worst luck for dynamax adventures, zygarde took me 236 encounters. Im at over 600 encounters for kyogre right now, and have a full box of phases. no pink whale yet :,D

Your not done wirh rhe hunt. You need 2 more shiny necrozma to truly be done (3 more if necrozma's true form was possible outside of sun/moon.) as you need 1 for each form then one to keep as is. Also nice click bait for the ultra necrozma. (Irs not possible to get outside of ultra sun or moon aince it requires Z moves ro make dusk mane and dawn wing necrozma to change into ultra necrozma.)

I just started DAs on my shield after getting the shiny charm and I managed to get both tapu fini and tapu bulu in under 30 total runs

You need access to the crown tundra DLC! From there you can access the DAs pretty early on in the games
