Just did one of these for a client in the North Eastern US who was a commercial fisherman. He wore the watch for it intended purpose and it was well used. Got into it and it had seen a pretty bad battery leak in the past and the main plate under the battery was stained but cleaned up by a previous watchmaker. The circuit board had been replaced with one from a 7546 4 jewel board at some point but it all worked beautifully. Finding the appropriate crown gasket is tough on these. What a robust piece of professional dive equipment. Seiko really knew how to build a dive watch. The strap on the watch I worked on was broken into pieces. I ended up putting a nice Uncle Straps GL831 flat vent on the watch for the gentleman. Looked great. John S
Those Seiko silicone straps are the best in my opinion, and sometimes they are not too expensive. I have one on a more recent Tuna with gold accents. I never understood why people dislike silicone. I love it.
I love this watch. I have a more recent version of this but no where near as nice. I still love it. I have been debating whether to buy one of these or not. I am fine with quartz, but here changing batteries is brutal. Does Seiko offer a solar golden Tuna?
Ha, people complain about Seiko prices today! This watch would be $2000 in today's money. I've got a 1979 Pepsi 7548. I had it recently serviced and it passed the water pressure test. Seiko quartz models of that era are awesome.
So the $2500 i spend on the 2018 re-issue golden tuna wasn't all that far off. The prices have been going up quite a bit the last few years, but sometimes you can find nice things for a decent amount of money.

I believe they do have a solar golden tuna
I’ve got one of these from 1981 that I need to get serviced. Still works great but I have no idea if it’s been serviced before.

Love the watch but hate the gold on it. I just don't like gold on my watches. I will however, get a big Tuna in my collection one day.
Is this watch available? I would be interested...
wow, I had no idea it had rainbow hands.
They're more of an iridescent thing.
