I really love these longer documentary type videos so much Zambian history is so rich and what you are doing is noble. Looking forward to more videos. 🙏🏾🔥
Beautiful piece, keep it up.I am not Zambian, but I am so impressed by your works informing us as Africans where we are coming from and correcting the narrative of history as our rulers and handlers would want us to believe especially as said after the independence interlocutors.
Powerful works for history it gives me great joy to see youths taking time to research and create a master peace of this kind ... great 😊 job keep it up ...
I grew up being taught that Alice Lenshina was a Cultist. This has shed a little more light on the subject matter. Well compiled! this is brilliant, bro!
I am personally touched by this historical account. I used to hear the name Alice Lenshina as I was growing up, but I was ignorant of what was taking place. As a Christian I see this as an injustice to Alice Lenshina and the innocent people that were massacred. Thank you for educating us on this important part of Zambian history. ❤️
This is 🔥 Wow wow wow!!!!! This is history we’ve never heard before. Thanks to this channel we can get to learn the most important aspects of our culture.
Would have even slapped harder if u had gone to chinsali and captured a video of her history as it is now the church the village and a few interviews with the natives still living there
Detailed piece As a member of the church in the church calendar we have a week in July to mourn the lives of those who died during the massacre. 👏👏👏 It's unfortunate alot of churches have been formed in trying to be called abena lenshina.
i knew of lenshina but to say the truth it wasnt like you have told it too much dark bits i was told in the story now i have learnt the story has it should be taught thankyou so much brother you have one more subscriber
Yes she certainly did but political propaganda was used to view her as a witch, while her followers believed she was a saint but the more we research the more we uncover the truth
There are books about her : A Time to mourn Gandovra Alice Lenshina :God's African Commander There is a full chapter about her in the book.."From Northern Rhodesia to Zambia " And if you want to look through old newspaper transcript check out nrzam.org.uk/Lumpa/lumpa.html
Fantastic video. Growing up what you hear of Lenshina is negative. I never knew she had similar nationalist sentiments. But at the same time, I feel it was race for the African mind in three angles. 1) The colonial powers hated her because she gave African ownership of a religion that was meant to control them, 2) the nationalist politicians feared Lenshina because she did not recognise the authority of the soon to be Zambia even before it was born. I can imagine this to cause great insecurity for UNIP. 3) And thirdly her refusal to recognise any authority but herself as God's vessel was brainwash in itself despite her being an avid anti-colonialist. I also wonder she was an anti-colonialism, but she was against the anti-colonial leaders. She was against all authority, yet she sought protection from the police against UNIP members? I do wonder what exactly was her utopia then what was her alternative?
I thought about that too, thats the reason i didnt want to be bias in trying to favour her on these principles but aleast we are discussing about our own history
Voice narration is top notch... Sound effects..man this is great... Deserves an award
Thank you very much and more is coming

I used hear about her when i was young

So many similarities to Hellen G White of the SDA except she was black.

Sad. No wonder he could not settle in chinsali after retirement
Wow rich history here, but all I was told was the bad side of leshina, but after watching this it seems she did some good as well.
Yes she certainly did but political propaganda was used to view her as a witch, while her followers believed she was a saint but the more we research the more we uncover the truth
Hey where can I find hard copies of her historical records?

@@ChannelTENthousandBC indeed👌🏽
I knew Alice was just a threat to Kaunda.. Otherwise she did nothing wrong
The nature of power is very complex
Sad, it would have been like SCOAN
So you are telling me we had a feminist, anarchist while all at the same time religious movement about half a century ago…
So bad
Yes it is a sad story
