Hello teacher, just finished attending your wireless console charger class. Install went just as smooth as your video, I think it took about 30 min. Looks good and doesn’t get in the way when resting my arm on he console. This is the second class I’ve attended and the third will be when my High Country instrument cluster arrives. Yup, ordered it yesterday from White automotive & media services. Your videos are very easy to follow. You pay attention to detail and you explain the procedures patiently and thoroughly. Thanks again. Dan from St.Paul temporarily living in San Diego.
Pretty sure this is the first comment that has gone along with my theme. 👨🏻🏫 lol. Thank you for the high praise! 😄 love making these when I hear people appreciate them. Have a good weekend class, see you Monday!
Just got a 2022 Sierra and was thinking the center console space would be so cool if it was a wireless charger good to know they make stuff for it and looks easy enough to install
Considering this over the Boost Auto Parts wireless charger. Boost Auto charger is more aesthetically pleasing however, I like the idea of NOT having to drill holes into my center console better. Great video!! Thanks!
Boost does make good stuff. I use their fog light module and I’m waiting on tow mirrors to see what they come up with. I also didn’t like the idea of drilling holes, and not having a button is one less thing to check/go wrong lol. This one also seems to stay in stock better lol. Both are great choices I’m sure. Thanks and you’re welcome!
@@TruckOwnership101 I hope they can come up with tow mirrors that work with the blind spot system. Currently I’ve only seen them available for the models without the blind spot assist
Another good video! You show more how to on panels than any of my ham radio buddies have shown. This has been very helpful. As far as the Qi charger goes, I was going to DIY one in the center console but I may just click on your link to add it like you did. That looks professional! Whoa! They aren’t cheap though. I will have to plan for this one, but it is definitely one I will probably go with. Maybe before our trip to Minnesota for Christmas? All the best! Happy
Great video. Still don’t know that I need wireless charging in my vehicle, but if I decide to pull the trigger, I’ll certainly follow your link. Regardless, fun video to watch and you did a fabulous job. Thank you.
Ha! Courage man! The dash tear down for the High Country cluster was way worse then this. Plus this project is in a well hidden area in the event you do make a mistake. Great starter project IMO lol. Thanks for watching!
Easy instal, thanks for the tutorial! I do have to ask though is anyone has done anything to dim down the blue light at night time? It’s obnoxious for sure.
Great video my 2021 at4 has the charger up front which is awesome. I would love to do this kit but to much pulling and tugging on plastic for me. Thank you
It's been roughly 8 months since this video, does the wireless charger still work? Have you had any issues with it? Does it appear to be a good long-term product? GM's OEM Factory Wireless charger is rated for 5W
I have 2022 ltz. Built in charger was moved underneath the handle for the arm rest console. Hit a small bump and stops charging. Does this one do the same?
Just found this video.... Was wondering if you have a problem with the charger or phone heating up? I have read that some wireless chargers and/or the phone get really hot.
Enjoyed this video and thought maybe this would work on a 2021 Suburban. However, the second row power is a 12V outlet which has a different harness. Any ideas or thoughts on a workaround for this?
I ordered one from eBay only to find out my iPhone 12+ will not fit in the charger tray. 😞 The phone fits in the OEM tray in the truck. The website description did not say that the charger tray was too small for the larger size phones.
Another question on affiliate links. I was you to get credit for your recommendations but I don’t want to buy right at the time I watch the video. How can you still get the credit after the fact. Here is what I do - I click on the links in the description and put them in Amazon Lists. Later I pick those parts out of those lists. Does the affiliate link not work in this case? Thanks again for helping this clueless truck owner out!!
Another great video. Went with the Auto-stop bypass kit and love it. What are the dimensions of the charging area to help gauge for phone/case sizes that will work?
The amazon page has a lot of info for phone sizes. My neighbor had a 12pro max and we had to take his modest size case off to fit it in. So whatever mm Apple says they are would be a good benchmark.
Yep, I mentioned that in the comment section and their amazon page shows it. I suppose an added difficulty will be running power though a hinged lid and a hinged backrest.
Does your truck have the 110v power outlet in the truck bed?? Would be awesome if doesn’t have it and you can make a video doing it, I want to install one ☝🏼
I have them already from the factory. That would be a doozy of a project with the inverter and all. You have to power that up before you can run your 110 items.
@@TruckOwnership101 I know but that will make the video even better because I don’t see no video on UA-cam about it, I just bought a 2021 LT and I have the holes in the bed and in the cabin for the plugs….. one day I’ll tackle that 😉
This is just a charger. You need a 2021 or newer to have wireless connectivity. (Unless you upgrade the radio) I made a video on how to do that as well. Pretty sure I linked it at the end of this video
Nice video.. I have a $100 Amazon gift card burning a hole in my pocked so this might be a good option! I know you said you added wireless car play but in my 2021 I hate it. I have carplay disabled almost all the time unless Im going on a trip and need the maps. I wish there was an option to make it wired only. Just not a fan of how whatever audio is on your phone auto plays. I might be listening to the radio then scrolling facebook or Instagram and if there is a video it automatically takes over the audio on the truck and have to go back to the radio.
Anyone has the same problem i have with it ,after 20 min.all of my phones get hot that it will stop charging ?i have try with and without the fuse that come with it but still the same
Thanks for the video man. I get it’s not the cheapest charger but it’s great not having all of the wires, I hate them as well. I’ve been thinking about this charger and may pull the trigger now, will use your link if I do. This was a big help. I saw that you showed an IPhone 12 Pro Max WITHOUT case so I need to see if it will fit with my thin protective case on it, don’t really want to remove it for charging but not a deal killer.
