I used to work at a call center that trained us for 3 months and he's using the same tactics they taught us. I was in tech support for an internet company but they trained us how to talk to customers to make it easier to sell them unnecessary stuff.

As someone who actually lives in Calgary, Alberta, I immediately cringed when he said that the "state" Calgary was in was Alberta. Canada doesn't have states, obviously. It has provinces. And California is literally the furthest point (on the west coast) from Canada. The closest state to Calgary, Alberta is actually Montana. xD

+Michael Staake I call via Skype which is on my second monitor that you can't see, since I'm recording the audio of my PC, that includes our Skype call. I believe Technicion is his scam company since no logical human opens a business that is legit yet misspelled like that lol

I signed up for a $7/month callcentric account and used x-lite softphone (version 3.0 is old but supports call recording, and it still runs on windows 10 - all the newer versions don't allow call recording)... not a waste of $7 since i needed the callcentric service anyway :) I used CamStudio to record the screen. When they started asking for money, I wasted their time by haggling on the price and got them down from like $499 to $116. I kept going on about how I just spent $1200 repairing the transmission in my car (which is 100% true) and how I can't afford the service right now. After I got the price down, i kept asking him to prove it wasn't a scam because i didn't want to put my credit card info in. He mentioned that my concern was valid since he'd seen a lot of youtube videos of scams... I just thought that was so ironic... so I kind of just gave up and told him that it's funny he mentioned that because his scam software and website are going to end up on UA-cam - after explaining I'm a full time computer technician and that it was a virtual machine, I hung up on him because I want to go to bed. Either way, that was fun, and I'll upload it tomorrow.
A more fun (and literal) way to "shoot down" viruses would to use Revo Uninstaller in Hunter mode. Except after education from me, my family doesn't get viruses anymore, and I don't really want to risk all my data... :(
