Israel Voice is a longtime member of the Inna De Yard collective, based in Kingston, Jamaica. "Nyomi" is a new recording of one of his oldest songs, which has taken several different forms over the past 25 years. It is an uplifting modern hymn from a Rastaman seeking a spiritual partner in the form of a divine woman.
This video was shot in Kingston and Bull Bay, Jamaica by Evan Haywood in May of 2019. It features a performance by the Binghistra Movement -- a traditional Nyabinghi orchestra led by the legendary Earl "Chinna" Smith -- and a trip to Chinna's famous yard in St. Andrew Park.
