    You are amazing! Honestly your videos are so helpful. Can you please do a video on how to teach a toddler their name?

    • @ABAmadeeasy

      I may do one once I have a bit more time, but the trick is to start by limiting the use of their name when placing demands. So don't say "Mauro, clean your room", simply say "clean your room". Next you want to pair their name with reinforcement, so start by having a strong reinforcer like a snack or a toy at hand (make sure you vary the objects so child understands that their name just means reinforcement, not a specific object). When they are distracted with another activity, bring the object to your eyes, get their attention with a physical prompt like tapping their shoulder, and say their name. Once they make eye contact/look at the reinforcer, hand it to them. Do this multiple time until they are routinely looking at your eyes for the reinforcer. Then fade the prompts, try calling their name from across the room with the object next to your eyes. Not only will this help with recognizing their name, it will also work on eye contact. Good luck!

      Rushna Butt have you tried asking her to hum a song? Make sure the song is different each time. Eventually her brain patterns will get tired eventually and she should stop in a year or two.

    people are not with autism or have autism....people are autistic - this is a term that is commonly preferred by the autistic community (although not all) its best to ask each individual person what they prefer...

    • @ABAmadeeasy
      @ABAmadeeasy  4 роки тому +2

      100% agree that it is important to ask each individual what they prefer! Most parents prefer person-first language especially when their child is on the part of the spectrum that causes extreme difficulty with language and social communication and that's why I use it by default. But absolutely there are many people that identify closely with autism and prefer the term autistic and if that's the case, I will use autistic instead. Always important to ask beforehand how every individual prefers to be addressed!

      @@ABAmadeeasy you say parents when it's up to the autistic person not the parent.. I am a parent too of a non verbal autistic lad he prefers autistic.. He knows his name but he is autistic he doesn't have autism..

    hey, where do you talk about how most autistic people denounce ABA as abusive? as reformatted conversion therapy, targeting vulnerable disabled children? do you sell the parents on the PTSD rates from this harmful practice?

    You almost had it right. Just get out of the ABA game. Society should learn to accommodate us, not the other way around.
