Awesome and simple, I'm 64 and still learning, your teaching methods make it easy. Thank you. Love and blessings from Kruger National Park in South Africa. Keep it up.
Thank you Lauren, ive been teaching myself guitar for about 2 months now and obviously at the very early stages. But your advice and teaching has been a great help. Love your content!
Interesting and easy to learn . Need to give some time and will power to understand what the teacher is relating about strumming. Beginners guide to buy a proper guitar to suit the purpose. For me beginning, learning to make use of a small guitar which can keep me company . For filling my loneliness moment and at the same time listening to the sweet music sound of the guitar. Thanks to our dedicated teacher .
This is a classic song that i have always liked, and with more than a bit of practice i can now try playing it. I am surprised that it uses only a few chords with only the strumming pattern to memorise. Once i have mastered it on an Acoustic, i will try to learn it on an Electric. Thanks for this one Lauren, you have made my day.
Great lesson, fun song to play. I already play this but with capo on 2nd fret then play G, Am and C chords. P.S. your voice was so smooth on the high notes!
👏👏👏 most excellent song choice Lauren.A favorite tune.I WILL do your course in the near future. (approx 6 weeks time)Was hoping you might have Courtney Patton : "take your shoes off Moses" & "Welcome Table" as lessons ? Or any Southern Bluegrass would do.👍🏿
Thank you, Michael, for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
Once again you've got me playing a great song, and once again my voice (as with the Roy Orbison song) is totally lacking of the range to sing it properly. I may be forever doing Dylan songs in a monotone. Lol! I suppose there are worse things that could happen to me. As always, another great lesson. You are much appreciated.
I recall Les Paul being asked about comparing his style to that of the 60s guitar gods. He said: “I don’t need a lot of notes, I just need THE note.” In my case, the correct notes which you provided herewith ,so thanks. If you do join the brunettes, advise and we’ll be there to cheer you on!
Hi Lauren, great lesson. You break it down so well and make it easy and fun to play. One question, I may be missing it but I couldn't fine the chord chart link, could you provide that? Thanks agian!
I like that you play these cords w/o singing down, up,up, down , etc.. it’s great when you say it out loud the first time, but after that it seems distracting. Just my opinion. Otherwise love and appreciate your music lessons.
You could just play only the lower 4 stings with your index finger on the 2nd fret instead of across the entire fret board. It will sound pretty close. However, keep working on barring, it will eventually happen.
You could use a capo and make the B minor an E minor. Also I once saw somebody say if you take your A minor and slide it up two frets and only play those strings it’s a way of playing B minor. Do you agree Lauren?
@@raqueldelacruz2561 you can play it using a capo on 2nd fret and use the chord g /a minor and c just repeat them over through the song 2 bars on g 1 bar on am and c
you miss the little bend and the solo although good is wrong and that's what makes the song cool 6/8 ad the chords 1,2,4,1 no fifth and the solo played over verses and play chords in the chorus
I have been learning this song. I recently watched a live proformence of 4 Nonblondes and I noticed that the lead is cheating. Lol She is doing a lot of down strumming and little to no up strumming.
Thanks Scott. This was the tab I found. It sounded good to me and it works really well for beginners so that’s what I went with. 👍 I also ran over to my guitar to check real quick and I don't think they would start the solo by playing a B note over an A chord. The root note works much better.

One of my favorites. Thanks so much! 🤘🎸

One of the great acoustic guitar tunes. Yes the strumming makes the song, but the original vocals were amazing too, super powerful!
Yes they were
Love it. I'm a beginner from Thailand!
Wow thank you!
Hi Lauren!! It's a good song. It's just practice on chords that are a bit overblown, just a little practice. Thank you
You’ve got it. Go slow and build from there.
Best song of '93🤘🏻
Great song!
I love the song, though, and you are an awesome teacher!! Thanks for all that you do. 😍
Thanks so much!
Increíble!!!!!!!!!!! Wauw!!!!!!! Que energía!!!!!! Y que gran maestra!!!
Oh my God! I love this song! Sounds also great on e- guitar playing the lead part. Take care everybody!
Yes the lead is fun.

You're welcome. Yes the strumming for this is tricky. Practice practice practice and keep it simple in the beginning.
So awesome i remember this song growing up. But that girl can really sing high in the band lol.
Yes she can
Great song from the end of my teen days. I've played it on keyboards, now it's time to play it on the guitar. Thanks a lot for the video.
Enjoy!

Yes, only 4 chords!!!
@@LaurenBateman 4 Chords is about all i can remember these days,
i wished that i had learned to play many years ago.
Nice demo very well explained
Glad you like it!
Its a classic this one and good for me beginner. Great lesson Lauren. As always thank you so much ✌
Awesome!
Love the George Harrison Gretsch. Great work as always!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the lesson
thx!
Welcome 😃
Brasil love you...
Thank you!
My father favourite song…☺️👍
Cool!
Great lesson, fun song to play. I already play this but with capo on 2nd fret then play G, Am and C chords. P.S. your voice was so smooth on the high notes!
Yes I used to play it without a Capo with those chord. Was much easier to sing for my lower voice. Thank you for the compliment.
@@LaurenBateman You are welcome. Am going to try it your way too as it is a good way to practice changing from open to barre chords. Thank you.

Out of my range too. I'm an alto.
Try Ralph McTell.

Rock on.

Yep, I'm trying to remember to do that based on feedback from past videos.
Thanks for considering it. I think you’re an outstanding guitarist and teacher.
May i suggest madam to have the whole song played for demonstration. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! We'll take note of that
Any possible way to play it without barre chord
You could just play only the lower 4 stings with your index finger on the 2nd fret instead of across the entire fret board. It will sound pretty close. However, keep working on barring, it will eventually happen.
@@2anonymous it was so hard 4 me to play a barre chord.maybe i need to try and try until i get it. Thank you

You can play the bottom three string only.
4 NON BLON
LIKE,LIKE...
Ah yes. The angry women music of the 90s…nostalgia. Haha.
I agree haha
sorry pattern is DDuDDuuDu and is I think 6/8 as they pattern you use sounds wrong
Song is 100% in 4/4
you miss the little bend and the solo although good is wrong and that's what makes the song cool 6/8 ad the chords 1,2,4,1 no fifth and the solo played over verses and play chords in the chorus
Peter, I'm sorry that you're hurting so much that you need to be rude on my channel. Sending positive vibes your way.
@@LaurenBateman sorry not trying to be rude just trying to correct it
I have been learning this song. I recently watched a live proformence of 4 Nonblondes and I noticed that the lead is cheating. Lol She is doing a lot of down strumming and little to no up strumming.
That's not the right notes for the solo.
It actually starts on the 9th fret of the D
Thanks Scott. This was the tab I found. It sounded good to me and it works really well for beginners so that’s what I went with. 👍
I also ran over to my guitar to check real quick and I don't think they would start the solo by playing a B note over an A chord. The root note works much better.
4 picks on 9th fret of the G then 2 picks on the 7th fret of the D then slide to the 4th of the D
My mistake on the first comment it is the wrong note.
I'm not trying to be sarcastic just helpful
I think you're awesome....
I'll video it and send it to you if I can figure out how
Lol
what the actual F is that solo? you should check other tutorials on that... this wrong on so many levels.
Possible. Was a quick tab I grabbed online. Sounded OK to me.
