Its per capita income is the nation’s highest, at $251,728, nearly $58,000 more than Manhattan, its closest competitor. The county’s 1 percent earned an average of $22.5 million a year in 2015."

You should go sometime. Right there in that region you have a top shelf ski resort town in Jackson (it's also wonderful in summer), Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. The sheer beauty of the region is on grand scale. And Yellowstone is the type of place that should be seen in person at least once by everyone. It's spectacular.

My friend & I would draw elk tags just to go ride our horses up in that area, just breathtaking. We worked the nightshift at the hospital, staff employees parked in the back next to a helo- pad and the back fence of the Refuge. In the mornings at just braking dawn you could hear the bull elk bugling and the calves & cows squeaking and yes it was a magical, I’d breathe in that fresh cold air every morning knowing this wouldn’t last forever for me. A lot of young outdoorsy folks use to move there for activities but now spend most of their time working for rent. Soon we may have to create nice towns like this that have limits on rich people. 😀 Jacking up COL is sad for people that just want to enjoy the outdoors.

Been through in November 2022. Just a bunch of overpriced restaurants and t shirt shops and tricket stores. Drove to Jackson Hole from Lander, Wyoming. Gorgeous drive with the sun rising up over snow covered hills and fields. Drove near the Grand Tetons on the highway to and from Jackson Hole. Drove west from JH towards Idaho Falls. Leaving JH westbound leads to some steep mountain passes. 10% grade with sharp switch backs; white knuckle drive in snowy conditions.

Every once in a while, I like to watch the old Clint Eastwood movie, Any Which Way You Can, to remind myself what Jackson, WY was like before it became the billionaire's hangout. Jackson used to have two "down" seasons each year: between Summer and Skiing seasons, and again between the end of Skiing season and Summer. I remember when it was hard to get a motel there during those down seasons...most were closed. Nice place back in the day, when there were still Jackson natives living there.

@Chris Miller yeah.. and Jackson has some of the best community programs like public health, 22housing, vouchers for pet owners expenses, not to mention the cities PUBLIC school is some of the best in the country..don’t forget about the ANNHATHWAY SCHOLARSHIP..our own stem classrooms... I mean don’t get me wrong yes we are crammed but this is a tourist town.. the fact that Jackson is blue isn’t why the working class can’t afford to live here it’s because we are a TOURIST SKI TOWN.

It just makes me nostalgic for the snow, I miss it. Living in Florida but grew up in New York. Jackson Hole is definitely on my bucket list. God Bless!!

Me and four of my buddies rented a 42’ motor home an hour north of Seattle and took a 2 week snowboard trip stopping at Targhee, Jackson Hole, Big Mountain and Schweitzer what a trip and getting powder at every resort was the icing on the cake.
We drove straight through to Targhee spent two incredible days there, then off to Jackson where we arrived in the parking lot around midnight only to be woken up by the parking lot attendants clearing the lot. We were woken by the guy pounding on the door telling us we needed to move, he told us to follow him and he’d hook us up with a good place to park and he did. He put us as close to the gondola and the Mangy Moose as he could’ve, what a killer couple of days we had camping in the parking. Everyone that walked by would look where our plates were from I guess they weren’t use to people building a fire with huge piece of astroturf laid out and 5 guys throwing down some beers. This was years ago they probably wouldn’t allow that anymore.
We did go to town a couple nights to check it out, then go to a steak house one of our friends had been to before and to take our first shower in 4-5 days. We had the shower full of extra snowboards so we couldn’t use the shower, so it was off to the YMCA for a swim and shower

I was a guest of the caretaker of Laurence Rockefeller's ranch on Jenny Lake, rode to the base of the Jackson Hole ski lifts to ski on Laurence's snowmobiles, ate lunch with cousins of the owners of Reader's Digest who were staying there. They told stories of getting in trouble with Laurence for sinking his boat during the summer,(as I recall). You didn't really ski downhill much at Jackson, you mostly dropped off cliffs into deep powder. It was a blast. The money didn't rub off on me, however. Yet.

I’d like to live near Jenny Lake by Mt. Moran but I’m not a billionaire. It is beautiful... I liked Grand Teton better than Yellowstone, but then again it was peak time. Jackson Hole was just way too touristy for my taste... nice though. Just found my Mangy Moose hat a couple of days ago.
