TelcoFlex! I used to do this for an ILEC for 5+ years. That wax string was hell on my fingers!

ross randrup thanks for watching, I hear you about the wax, I think it might be contributing to some of my skin trouble. But it also helps my grip😉

Hard on the fingers, yes, but a cableporn installer forgot a roll of the stuff at my previous job (TV station) and I used to lash and finish all types of ropes on my sailboat, that stuff lasted longer than the ropes. Ten years in the tropical sun and as good as new. Best string ever!

      thanks for watching
      it's waxed polyester cord.
we use 9 ply now, but in the old days they used 12 ply. (It is still called 12 cord in in the industry).
I have a couple rolls of 6 ply also, which is good for repairing tool pouches.
      it's pretty tough stuff.

I was an installer for 12 years mainly all power started at Lucent then went to Tyco then went to interstate power a division of interstate batteries also worked for a half a dozen contracting companies mostly in the southeast tried to stay in Florida as much as possible. Money was great at one time especially for not having a degree but it's a dying industry switches that used to take 4 isles now are just 1 box inside a frame. Only thing I hated doing was going through walls when you had to get that red fire stop putty. I think they called it a donkey dick or something lol. Plus the constant travel being away from family and power was usually always done at night so when you go home on the weekends your sleep schedule is all jacked up. Otherwise I made a lot of loot running 750 cable usually each run about 6 ft long back then we kept the copper and split it up at the end of the job.

      Cool, thanks for watching.
I worked in the central offices mainly for bell and at&t. I did mostly switchboard work then.
The work I'm doing in this video is in a cell site. I do a lot of DC power work here with this job.
Been lacing for 20 years now.

Yeah, now they are making us wrap it all in paper and stitch it, so it really looks like crap.. people never make up their minds in telecom.

Since when can you stack telco that high. Should be bundled in groups

We have to wrap it all in fiber paper now. And bundle it in groups.. even where there's only room to stack it high.😉
