cheez , i wish i had this deal when i was starting to be a mechanic. I had to start by working at a service station, buy my own tools, pay my way through school, and work at a store to pay my way through school. it was hard to find a job as a student mechanic, but i luckily found my job with a local service station...
Yea I feel u.... if I had finished up Automotive when I first started 15 years ago...it would.have cost me alot more than the job was worth. Now 2022 a Toyota Dealership has offered me a full time entry-level job plus they will pay for my certifications and training. I'm so blessed
Pretty much all the big companies offer free schooling.... the tools though that's nice. GM sure as hell didn't do that for anyone here not even the oil change kid lol.
I’m a student looking for some experience as well currently in the Toyota/Lexus program at universal technical institute I live in Illinois would you happen to know any lexus job entry tech opportunities
@@thatpurpleneon322 Flat rate pay system, it sucks. Warranty time the hourly rate is less, plus the time hours wise is less, put those two together equals not much fun. I would say dealers do probably 70-80 percent warranty work. Customer pay is more but you are doing those jobs a lot less of the time.
True I been working independent shops since 2004. Last year finally said screw the automotive world and got a cdl making more money I did busting my butt
@@thatpurpleneon322 Do not listen to these people. Please. If you want to work in this industry the dealership route is a very lucrative route to go. Flat rate just means if you’re a lazy piece of shit you won’t get paid jack but if you’re motivated and you’re willing to learn and expand your horizons and work quickly and efficiently you can make more than these people will ever see in a year. I can guarantee it. I didn’t believe it when I first started this endeavor but you can make it happen. These other people sound like lazy, fat body, piece of shit losers that probably barely tried something and put almost no effort into it and saw nothing of it so now they’re all salty. Go out there and fucking slay it.
