    Thanks for the vid. I’ve done spark plugs before but watched for a refresher. Your video was knowledgeable and left me with no questions. 👍

    You are the first person that explains in detail how much force or turns to make. Why didn't you add any antii seize? Do these spark plugs not need any?

    • @DantheFixitMan
      @DantheFixitMan 4 роки тому

      Hi Ludoviko,
      Thank you. Yes, that is correct, these plugs didn’t need anti-seize on them. The manufacturer says it is not necessary to put it on. Usually when you see a shiny metal coating on the threads, it’s not necessary to add anti-seize.
      Thanks for watching!

      @@DantheFixitMan Yes! I just saw another video by or from NGK and they also explained this! I'm glad because this just means the installation is much more doable for the average person like myself! I ordere
      d the exact same plugs used in your video and I will be installing later this week. Thanks so much!

      @@DantheFixitMan I think I did something wrong. I used a socket wrench and not a torque wrench because I don't have one. I can't tell if it vibrates more in idle or is a bit more shakey after install because of this. Maybe I didn't tighten them enough? I think I was also smelling a bit of gas? I need to get this checked before continuing to drive again. What do you think?

    • @DantheFixitMan

      Ludoviko Peluche so sorry to hear you’re having trouble. I would not drive it until you get it sorted out. Hopefully it is something easy that you can figure out.

      If you use the type that it came with (laser iridium) then they can go about 120k otherwise for the regular iridium go with 60k

    I paid my neighbor to change my spark plugs. Car ran good before , but after he changed the plugs it ran terrible. Asked him about it. He went to "fix " it, made it worse, check engine light came on. He went to "fix " again , it was shaking , and sputtering and wouldn't accelerate when I pressed the gas. He told me just keep driving it around itll straighten out. Well now I am scared to drive it. He said sine gasket seals gone.

    Absolutely do NOT use dielectric grease in direct coil ignition like this. Only wires and plugs need this, you can cause serious issues with conductive grease in boots.
