  • In the 1990s S.M.M. was established as a neighborhood based criminal organization in the Soundview section of the Bronx. Fathered by Peter Rollack a.k.a. Pistol Pete from the Soundview Houses, S.M.M. eventually affiliated itself with the L.A. based bloods gang. Over a relatively short time the S.M.M. set spread to other locations led by Peter Rollack who is currently serving a life sentence without parole on a plea bargain for admitting to killing 6 people.

    I Grow up in Monroe houses, 1755 Story ave. (1961 - 1975). I am of Italian decent. I was 2 years old when we move there from 149th street and southern Blvd. All of us were working class people. We were a mixed group of different races. African American, Spanish, Polish, Italian, Irish, Jewish, German and on and on.... My point is this. We all had a civility towards each other. Thinking back on that period, what I remember most is almost everyone of us kids had two parents. No doubt, there were difficulties with drugs and racism. With the issue of racism, There was no need to put it in anybodies face. The reason I think that was, is this. We all were in the same economic place. No one was any better then anybody else. For the most, we were civil towards each other and that went a long way to keep the peace. I remember the riots over at Newark N.J. in 1967. That is when things started to change. People from the neighborhood were moving out. By 1971, there were so many people that I did not recognize anymore. Those of us that were OG became even closer. Growing up in the projects has taught me a most valuable life lesson, which is this, how to get along with people of different cultures. Lets stop this foolishness, before it is to late.

An ignorant state of mind provides negative results. I grew up in the same place, got a bit of dirt on the hands... Then I grew up. But standing on the block talking insignificant nonsense into a camera? Yeah I tell you right now, my potential is beyond that, not because I think I'm better, but because I plan to do so, & @ 40 shit displays your immaturity to the world. I live in the View. 22 years old. I still feel safe here. The view is full of positive kids. I should know. Not everyone is in a future convict. Some may be misguided but not because of gangs. Because they are misguided by media. Media is a big thing in this world and misleads alot of people. Even music around here. I'm not a big person on rap and hip hop. But The View is my home and always will be. So fuck the hatas we do what we do to survive everyday Mister goody two shoes and crew.

Go get a job even if its Burger King. Smh & if you going to have all this money from drugs use that money to fix up your hoods apartments plant flowers make that shit look clean. Get a house than go back to school at least do something useful with the money.

    • @bxdale83
      @bxdale83 10 років тому +6

      Soundview is more than a project, you have Monroe PJ's, Bronxdale PJ's, Bronx River PJ's, Watson Ave, Elder Ave, Boynton Ave, 172nd Street, 174th Street, and Castle Hill PJ's on the far end. All of those projects, streets and especially Watson Ave were off the hook and just as deadly back in the 80's and 90's so you can't compare!

    • @bxdale83
      @bxdale83 8 років тому

      +Author Empress Simone .Simone Quick I would even say that the projects in Soundview (Bronx River, Bronxdale, Monroe, Soundview, Castle Hill included) were worse than Mott Haven (Millbrook, Mitchel, Mott Haven, and Patterson which in my opinion was the wildest pj in the area)

    • @AuthorEmpress
      @AuthorEmpress 8 років тому

      bxdale83 I lived in Millbrook Houses for 12 years as well 137th and Cypress. Soundview was just as wild. Stymie got shot in his d***. Projects wars, Walk through Monroe houses and had to duck when the shots rang out. There is no tougher than the other in the South Bronx when you think of it...We all had and still have heart. That's what really counts is your heart. I have cousins who said they wouldn't go to bk. Guess who did a stint in bk? lol It's not ignorant it's fact. I was raised in the 80's in soundview and it was off the hook. Millbrook you'd hear guns pop every now and then maybe a death or two but I remember Soundview from the 80's. It was wild. I'm going to scroll through these comments to see what my feelings were when I initially commented so I can grasp a better context and direction where this convo should be going. I think you done started something. Lol

    • @AuthorEmpress
      @AuthorEmpress 8 років тому

      bxdale83 Okay we are on the same page. I had to take my time and read through the previous comments. I believe you are correct. Sound View, 174th and oh my God don't forget Castle Hill Houses. It was wild. Then there was cozy corner and whatever went down over there. I know my pops and uncles got into scuffles as elders with other people so you know everyone used to scrap. lol and my dad is the sweetest guy you could meet. Aw you stirred some memories. Thank you.

    • @bxdale83
      @bxdale83 8 років тому +1

      Yeah my initial reply was for the guy who said that the Mott Haven area was worse. We basically agreed that the Soundview area was just as bad if not worse than Mott Haven. For a long time I felt that Soundview/Castle Hill area always get left out of the conversation. Even Edenwald and that was arguably the wildest pj in the whole Bronx
