Another moving scene and class act by the wonderful Sheila Florance in this episode. That quivering lip was spot on. Takes me back to the final scene in episode 49 when her friend Edie died and she was talking to Vera about being alone. The fact that she so often has me howling with laughter yet on the odd occasion is tugging at my heartstrings is testament to how superb her acting is. Pure brilliance!
I don’t feel sorry for Sharon at all. She’s a petty, jealous, insecure, spoilt, little brat, who is hypocritical, uses people, lives for drama, never apologises and makes a villain of herself and enemies of other people, time and time again.
Dunno why Vera got suspended to begin with. Fletch has broken the rules several times, courting an ex-inmate in particular. Double standards once again.
Caroline was still a "crim" when they slept together..The guards aren't supposed to mix with "crims". Unless and until her conviction is expunged. Caroline is still a crim. Also, remember that Davo asked him point blank if something was going on between them and he lied to her face. I gather from some the characters' comments that this wasn't the first time Fletcher got involved with an inmate. The same goes for Vera's position as Deputy Governor, which she has to have earned. She was just demoted for no reason and the job was handed to Fletcher who was transferred under a cloud. If Vera had done something wrong to earn the demotion, Meg should have been next in line,
She wasn't suspended for breaking the rules. She was suspended- pending an investigation due to allegations of blackmailing Kerry Vincent. Vera is known as a hard but honest guard- but is also known for her harshness toward the prisoners....
Vera got so lucky that Jock arrived at Wentworth when he did and saved the day for her because nobody else would have cared enough to bother. He only helped and dated her because he knows the type of person she is and that she treats the women unfairly, which of course is right up his alley! Erica blowing the store room business out of all proportion and once again handing out unnecessary punishments. She'll never change! What Judy ever saw in Sharon only she will know because those two are like chalk and cheese!
7:37 Touching scene between Doreen and Mrs. Davidson 7:48-7:54 I just love Erica's smile, so sweet, maternal. She treats the women well and wants good for them.

They have a social worker, psychiatrist, counselling/religious services and various classes for the prisoners but no one can put Doreen in touch with someone who can help her with financial choices!!!!! Instead the social worker gets her to hurry up and marry a fella of 20 so he can make financial decisions for her. Gotta love this programme.

I know Jock is supposed to be a bastard, but I couldn't help but cheer when he threatened Kerry. Vera was actually nice to her (as nice as she can get) and she got repaid with slander and a suspension. Vera has done many things, but she should get her comeuppance as a direct consequence for THOSE things, not for something she is innocent of. I'm glad someone went to bat for Vera, whatever his intentions. But what is with his interest in Doreen's house? That made makes me raise an eyebrow. And thank god about Sharon! That dig to Fletch was the last straw for me. Calling that tacky is an understatement.
Meerile S: Stewart made a deal with the sleazy salesman that was pressuring Dor. They did not spell out the details but the inference was that he would receive a fee or commission to pressure her into selling. We still do not know why the actual interest in the house itself.

Jim's face annoys me after he just strolled back into Wentworth, not receiving even the slightest reprimand from Davo after it was proven he'd had an adulterous affair with Caroline AND helped pay her way through the trial. Then he has the nerve to play decency when telling Vera he had to tell Mrs. Davidson what he'd heard between Vera and Kerry regarding a flipping light bulb? On top of this, he gets to resume his daily job while Vera goes home on an unjust suspension based off nothing but "he said/she said". Smh. Bea's not thinking things through. If Vera leaves for good, someone worse may come along. Vera needs to watch herself with this Jock guy...I don't like him. Since he's rushing to her rescue, his "knight-in-shining-armor" facade may blind her from his true colors. Just the way he looks and moves gives me the willies.

Well it looks as if its Bye bye Sharon. Interesting fact, Sharon was originally intended to stay on the show permanently and Judy was only meant to be on the show for a short period. However due to her popularity with viewers they decided to keep Judy and kill of Sharon. On Wentworth the modern day reimaginary of Prisoner, in season 6 they used and wasted the name Sharon Gilmour on a minor character who appeared in two episodes. She was nothing like the original, but did have brutal death being stabbed to death in the showers by Sonia Stevens, mistaken her for Liz Birdsworth from behind. There will finally be a new character in season 8 of Wentworth called Judy Bryant. It's a shame they didn't do their research properly and kept the name Sharon Gilmour for this new Judy Bryant character. As many of us know, Judy is one of the most iconic characters Prisoner ever had, but her creation was all down to the Sharon Gilmour character.
Way to go Jock backing up my girl Vera. He may turn out to be bastard - but I'll take him over dumb Meg and Erica, and slimy Letch. Sharon's comment to him was fitting. Now Bea felt remorse for Letch when he brought it upon himself, whereas Vera was based on a lie through and through
If I were being suspended over Carrie Vincent lying about me, I'd make sure they had better reason to suspend me. And Carrie would never be able to hold another print brush in her nasty talons ever again!

Yes totally agree and this episode is written by Denise Morgan she did some beautiful episodes
I was almost gonna feel sympathy for Sharon, until she mocked a grieving Jim Fletcher about his family.

so many quality story threads , this is where this 692 long series hits full flow!.. but watch out for Jock Stewart as he's a real bastard.
He's A hero for getting rid of Gillmore.
If you get Jock Stewart, Len Murphy, Vera Bennett and Joan Ferguson together. They could cause a huge disaster.
Teddy got an invite to the wedding. Good.

JOCK IS THE WALRUS OF WENTWORTH.

From the second I saw him, he made my skin crawl.

There's something about Vera..deep down she's been hurt every time she lets her guard down..
Yes, this is where it gets much more interesting....
Aww! Sharon in a twisted heap halfway down a flight of stairs, now what a shame........NOT! Where's my Margo!?xx
+Virginia Guiney What was Margo's last name? Maybe then I can remember her....
Margo's surname was Gaffney, but in these earlier days, until a certain point, she was first known as Margo Dempsey. 😃
Jock Stewart the most horrid screw, they had to make him Scottish
Whit d’ye mean, lassie? 😂
That leaves the prison open for Jock Stewart. Especially when he is 4ft tall.
The programme approaches its height at the moment
Jock Stewart and Ferguson would have been a good match. I think the Freak would go straight for Jock.
YEH< Lock EM up together and throw away the Key LOL.
Bea loves ken
