  • "Viva Piñata" was a life simulation video game where players cultivated a garden to attract and care for colorful, animal-like creatures called piñatas. Developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Game Studios, it combined elements of sandbox and strategy gaming. Players engaged in activities like planting, landscaping, and managing the ecosystem to appeal to different piñata species, each with unique needs and preferences. The game was notable for its vibrant graphics, whimsical design, and appeal to a broad range of players, from children to adults. It was originally released for the Xbox 360 and later for Microsoft Windows.

No mention of the DS Pocket Paradise? It was odd but was a fairly decent translation, including having some trouble in paradise piñatas iirc.
Overall I'd say VP did so much in the short time it spent that it spread itself thin. As much as I love the games I highly doubt Microsoft pops another one out. A cult following with little demand.
Major props to the Return to Paradise fangame team, who are working on a steam release.

Sadly, like Spore, I doubt that VP will come back. However, I loved the game as a kid and still love it to this day. If there are 2 games I would like to see made modern, it's Spore and VP, Spore cause I think with modern animation and tech-ready, I think it would have such cool graphics and maybe do away with "complexity meters" as I feel they only did that because the game had to support older computer specs but now with computers that can withstand as much as they can, I think we can find some awesome creatures being created. Similar to VP, I think it would be cool to add multiple gardens (similar to the whole going to other Biomes to capture pinatas seen in TIP, but instead, we have a different garden in that biome, and we can have different gardens to maintain with new exotic creatures), and do away with the whole "full garden" mechanic or at the very least, make the crowding mechanic less limiting because still there as there is a difference between having a Minecraft cow breeding pit like thing going on in your garden vs 10 flowers turning to 20 more garden spaces simply because the flowers decided to explode while trying to give your Whirlm you had since the beginning of the game a joy candy to convince him to stay cause he's depressed that the Elaphanilla keeps stepping on him and thus, not allowing you to buy said joy candy and your precious Whirlmington slinks away in sorrowful depression never to be seen again...

@@kookieguy8343 it's fan made and by some of the folks who worked on the original 2. It's just totally independent from Microsoft. From what I read is part of the deal is they have access to all of the characters and animals but none of the original code and they can't make a profit off of it.
