It’s less predictable this year as that’s what Arteta wants - options to face different opponents. Like he doesn’t just want to face a team with low block and just see if the usual 11 players can find a way through - now he can play different players - with specific tactics can a team that does a certain thing. The Brighton win is great example of exploiting opponents predictability. Isn’t it just a marvellous time for Arsenal supporters again 😊
You are doing well. I love how unpredictable the team is now. Let the opposition keep guessing. This ship will steady massively and throttle down fully with each game. Cheers mate. Another master piece. I look forward to Part 2.
Fluidity in our attack is the biggest thing I’ve been asking for from Arteta and we now have it. Saka and Martinelli’s talents were being wasted having them isolated out wide all game. We now have the full backs holding the width which allows Saka Martinelli to play more central. Odegaard dropping deeper which allows him to get on the ball more and make things happen. Decs bombing forward at times as well. Jesus dropping deep leaving space for Havertz to run into. It’s beautiful to see. Just need to be more clinical in front of goal
@@5686darryl Correct. We’ve seen different variations in our attack. Sometimes Martinelli does, then Zinny, sometimes Saka then White. There’s been much more fluidity
Arteta is the most adaptable manager on this planet and it's not even close. He is so quick to iron out any mistake of his tactics or play different players or players differently if they have a bad run of games. I won't be surprised if the main game will be different next month and other players will shine more than they did recently
The main difference in my opinion between this season and last is we’re a lot more territorial and possession based. We try to play mostly on the edge of the opposing area. When we win the ball we seem to be putting our foot on it and take our time going forwards allowing the opposing team to get back and basically pen their selves in. Whereas last year, we were a lot more gun ho and direct about getting forwards and countering as soon as we win the ball back meaning less goals but more defensive stability as the games a lot less end to end.
On the talent ID side they are looking for players with multivariate profiles, the players are able to adapt to multiple game models and game states without dropping quality. I think this is a key to understanding Mikel's beef with players that don't want to learn new skills or players with one skill
In 2-3 years time all the decent / big PL teams will be highly technical teams. To stand out your squad will either have to be : 1.) Extremely adaptable / multiskill players to gain advantage with UNPREDICTABILITY 2.) Have multiskilled players that are SO GOOD in a specific area of the game (i.e. anomaly players ) that it will be basically impossible to challenge your team in that aspect of the game (i.e. Van Dijk miles clear the best aerial dueler in the PL, Palhinha BY FAR the best tackler in the league etc.) - ANOMALY PLAYERS IMO the best way to buckle the trend of all teams becoming so technical / possession-based is to recruit & build your team with a hybrid of option 1 and 2, one of the reasons why I want us to sell Partey & reinvest in Palhinha. We are no longer playing as rigid & structured in-possession as last season because we do not have transition liabilities (think Man CIty (A) & Everton (A) last season) of Xhaka and Partey in our midfield anymore, hence we don't need an inconsistent line-breaking (vertical) passer like Partey anymore, but rather a destructive partner for Rice that'll allow White, Odegaard, Saka & Martinelli slightly more freedom.
@@hfn3778 on bullet 2. Those unicorn profiles are not available in the market, hence pushing the boat out for Declan. It's impossible to have a team of Mbappe level galacticos in every position because of the deal economics of the PL. So the more proximal trend will be squad depth quality and variability.
@hfn3778 this comment got me so excited. Can't wait to see who we're going to pair with Rice. Also, don't you think the technical level of the Premier league is already absurdly high? It might not even take 2-3 years
Arteta is all about CONTROL. Not just that, but utter domination of the pitch. Starting this season we appeared methodical and our attack prowess seemed to struggle just a bit. Now we are improving and games against the likes of Brighton are perfect examples. Our press was ruthless and we suffocated them, generating tons of chances. Every team finds it difficult to generate meaningful chances against us. The ball control is there, the chances are there, the stifling of opposition is there. String it together long enough and we will win things this year
last season we went gung ho from GW1 but faded before the end. this year different approach. we try to maintain defensive stability while keep on winning and lingering around top spot. trust me they will go gung ho at the right time till the end.
Interestingly I felt in the past we favoured the left, xhaka /Tierney 2021 ish. That was more the side arteta inherited but interesting to see how the Personel have now changed the approach play. Very good content as always
different knock, do you think swapping martinelli and sakas flanks i games where the struggle would make them more direct and effective, left footer on left flank and vice versa
I think you forgetd the 6th phase fighting for top 4 and losing to fulham west ham and Villa drawing to finished chelsea, you can't win the league with these results we should've took a chance of city bad form and been 50 points right now at at first not 4th in reality our club is finished we need kloop type of manager to win us the league title Arteta won't and we should should question him off this season and last season bottling even Arteta fans should, because we've backed him 700 million In 4 years and gave time no time now
important to remember arteta’s new strategy of growing into the season instead of starting strong and burning out. part of that is controlling the game by pacing ourselves, holding up play, and waiting for opportunities that don’t require us to send our entire front line, full tilt, up the pitch multiple times per game. i do agree it can feel annoying because it seems so obvious, especially since we know we can do it (for example when we battered lens in the ucl) but despite the transition, we still score goals and we still win games. unless we stop doing that, im okay with not exploiting those open spaces and overworking our front line.
Another important thing to remember is that, as a viewer, you have a very wide view of the field and you also have all the time to think about what the next move could As for players, most of the time you have to make a decision within seconds, with an opponent closing you down Watch the player cam videos and you'll be in a better position to understand
@@Malm-us2ut i understand the reasoning but i feel like there should be a compromise in some moments. last time i screamed at the screen was UCL somewhere in last 5 minutes when ESR cut the ball passed to Trossard who had 10m around him to turn around but he passed it back to Odegaard who had again option to pass it to the right side but decided to take few touches and pass it to ESR that got to nothing. It was a similar situation to a second goal yesterday, but Nketiah decided to turn around and push forward.
thing is if people like us pickup game play then managers will pick it up. only options is faking. the only predictable team is city. rely on press, over mid and down to haaland vs defence. it works, but the only team i see capable - that being from an arsenal fan, is Liverpool.
